Gr8 quality, storage and functions at a realistic price !!

For me, this has been the best mobi's I've owned over many years.

With the majority of current 'phones, being mega expensive, containing far too many 'apps' and multi mega pixel cameras, this one has been 'pared back' to reduce costs, but without removing any of the most important features, found on other more expensive items.

The screen, which covers all of the unit to the frame edge, is crystal clear, with gr8 contrast, displaying all the app's with short cuts and the response and clarity is excellent, although I have kept mine in a thin but flexible case since purchase and after nearly 12 months, is still unmarked retaining excellent battery life.

In short, it takes mega good pic's and is the best mobi' I've owned to date - Recommended !

Fast, good screen, bad speaker location

In general this is fast phone with good specs and under 6" screen which is ideal for pockets. Camera so so, but i don't care.
BIG issue is the earpiece speaker which is positioned too high up near the edge of frame so when you put it to your ear the speaker is muffled by your ear/head and you don't hear anything. Also very slippery and smooth so requires a case. Some samsung UI issues i don't like but you can replace launcher and apps so that's not big deal.Read full review...

Solid phone, value for money

Very pleased with this purchase. A refurbished Grade a phone but like new really. Only one barely noticable faint scuff on handset. In perfect working order. Battery life not quite as good as my last Samsung but only marginally and perhaps my view of this is clouded by lockdown and using it a lot more due to working from home... Memory fantastic as is all the general functionality. I would definitely purchase again and would recommend a refurbished phone. NB. You don't get the usual packaging and accessories (bar USB charging cable), as explained in the blurb, not a problem for me as I had previous samsung accessories which I can use on this handset. Above average for money

I am very happy with this Samsung A40 product. I am especially pleased with the clarity of the the screen and the fact that is of a very acceptable size i.e. it is not over large. Also the 64 Gig memory makes my life so much easier and retrieval of data is instant. It may not have all the whistles and bells of the more expensive models but there are more than enough features on this product for my needs. Well made and attractive product. Well worth the money.Read full review...

My "new to me" Samsung A40 smartphone

I bought this Samsung A40 phone to replace my Samsung A5, which only had 16gb memory, and that was beginning to become an issue. (I thought you could run apps on an SD card but you can't!). I was looking for 128gb but that meant the A50 and it was just physically too big. The A40 was a compromise. I have bought used tech before and this was graded as B+ but when it arrived I couldn't find anything to suggest that it wasn’t new. Although slightly smaller than the A5 the viewing screen was just as big. It is lighter than the A5, probably because it is a plastic case instead of aluminium, but it "feels good" to hold. The battery lasts well but I am not a heavy user- phone calls, text, whatsapp and google maps/Waze mainly. Occasionally used as a Kindle book reader in waiting rooms etc. and, of course, as a camera, and the charge usually lasts for a couple of days. All my phones, tablets etc are protected with a leather case and this is no exception. The USB type C connector caught me out so I had to buy a couple of new leads for the car and the bike but it is better than the micro USB on all my other stuff. It fits neatly in my motorcycle jacket and it does all I ask of it so, for me, this compromise purchase has turned into a bit of a result and I am very pleased with it. I was also considering a Samsung S10E because of the size limitation I had set, and I would have got my 128gb - but it would have cost me £500 more. I have now been using this phone for a couple of months and I can't really think of any bad points. All in all I am very happy with the purchase decision and I would do the same again.Read full review...

Samsung A40 good value.

Bought it to replace Huawei p9 lite. Good 64mb memory. Good camera. No problems with it so far. No so robust as p9 but feels much better with a protective case. Keypad a bit smaller than I like ( big fingers) generally does what it says on the tin. Getting to like it now. Good value in my opinion. I fitted a screen protector and have no problems with touch commands. Everything good so far.Read full review...

Amazing piece of tech.

I'm really impressed by this phone. Cameras are brilliant and the screen is nice and bright. Decent storage size with the added bonus of being able to expand the memory and move apps onto sd card.

Great phone

This is a loveable phone! It's very reliable for battery life, easier to get in my pocket than previous phone and easy to use for routine use. I am writing this review some months after I bought it so that I can experience it better. I like it very it's a good pocket companion for me. The software has recently been updated making it faster than before. So, I am a very satisfied customer!

Great all round, mid range phone

A nicely featured, mid range phone. The back is Plastic but has an ‘Oil Slick’ effect (which Samsung call Glasstic) and seems durable. The screen in big at 5.8” but not enormous so fits comfortably in your pockets, the super amoled panel is bright and sharp. This phone charges really quickly compared to my previous handsets, there doesn’t appear to be any lag and using chrome and apps is fast and nippy. It runs Android 9.0 but as it is a 2019 model it should receive at least 2 further updates in line with other Samsung models . It can be used for contactless payments if you so wish. All in all this is a reallyRead full review...

Samsung A40 phone review

Although battery storage is not as good as it was cracked up to be, the phone boasts many features of more expensive devices.

I particularly like the dual sim availability and the large 64GB. memory.Read full review...

A good buy, no issues

A good phone working fine so far so hope it will serve me well for a foreseeable future. In a good condition, no screen scratches, just little at the back but you use your cover so it doesnt matter. Easy to set up, came promptly. Interestingly enough, no feature difference between Samsungs Ive had so far in my life. I think Samsung adds a very little to develop their phones but they charge high prices for every new incomer. Read full review...
