Excellent Product!

Picked this up at a terrific price; around $50 less than the current price at large home stores. Installation couldn't have been easier. Conveniently I already had a schlage deadbolt (not sure if that matters) but I removed the front and back of the old manual deadbolt, and placed this one, 2 screws, plugged in the connector cable and battery. I was programming my new code within about 8 minutes of opening the box. The programming is quite easy as well. Codes can be added or removed in seconds. The unit feels very well built and heavy. The touch pad seems of good quality, which time will tell as I have installed in in a direct sunlight area. The mechanism feels like it should last, instead of a mechanical one that always seems like it earned it to lock and unlock. I will be recommending these devices.Read full review

Still a semi-manual lock

It's a good value, quality construction and easy to install. However, the key pad does not lock or unlock the deadbolt. The keypad just allows you to manually turn the knob to engage the deadbolt. I've had other locks that engage the deadbolt after you type your code into the keypad, no need to manually turn the knob - this one does not do that.Read full review

Easy to use, inexpensive

Most important to me is that this lock is easy to read and to reliably press buttons. Another Chinese-made electronic lock had unreliable buttons and no feedback to tell if the button was pressed.
Unlike most other electronic locks, this lock will not re-lock itself after 30 seconds: you must physically turn the deadbolt to lock the door when you leave. I like that feature about half the time, and dislike it the other half.
Comparatively inexpensive in the world of electronic locks, it was easy to install with detailed instructions. It has no key: this is simply an electronically and manually operated deadbolt.
I found it easy to explain to my tenants and easy to use.
Because this is a manually operated deadbolt, not automatic, you have a little leeway with the fit of the door in the frame. You can pull the door closed to get the bolt into the frame. Not so with automatic locks in general: your door and frame must fit properly, and the bolt must be able to slide into the door frame easily. If you need to pull on your door in order to slip the bolt into the frame, automatic electronic locks don't work. This lock will work in that situation.Read full review

Good looking tuff lock...

Easy installation, remove old lock, slightly enlarge hole for body of lock to fit, drill deeper hole for deadbolt to engage.
Allow around 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to install and change codes...
Hoping this keyless lock will keep my GANGSTALKERS OUT, they enter my home on a daily basis soon as I exit, vandalising, spraying their chemicals on my bedding, clothing, floors seating in fact the whole house is fumigated with chemicals not allowing you to sit on chairs or sleep in bed, along with my home/ cars being vandalised.
I did have the best lock available Assa Abloy Protec but the Gangstalkers bribed a Locksmith to make a key.
Hopefully this will be the answer being keyless with the change of codes frequently...

Tired of carrying house keys?

Fairly Easy and Quick Installation. I did go to youtube and followed along to help guide me through the steps. I have several Schlage keypad deadbolts and thought I would try the new keypad designed Touch. It works great and there is no need to carry a house key (unless you lock the wrong lock on your door). You push one part of the keypad, twist the deadbolt into position and your house is locked. Enter any four digits you want to program your deadbolt and it is good to go. Follow the instructions or watch a youtube video and you will have a touch deadbolt system installed in less than half an hour. I would recommend this product to everyone. Kids no longer have to look for that hidden key to get in. Just use their birthdate as their code and they are in even when you are gone. Great product.Read full review

Solid, Reliable Smart Lockset at a Reasonable Price!

I purchased this Schlage lock to replace an older model. Am happy with it and it seems to me, anyway, that it's a bit more solidly built than my previous one. I even discovered a feature that I was unaware of--when you press the logo a little light comes on to illuminate the keypad! Am ambivalent about it not having a key to fall back on if a problem with the keypad should ever occur but only time will tell.Read full review

Love Schlage locks

This is my 4th Schlage lock I have bought from eBay and all have worked perfectly. Battery last for over a year on busiest door and no problem yet. Runs off 4 AA batteries.
I have used August locks which sometimes won’t lock if door is not flush in place and I have used kwickset which I had to replace batteries every 3 months on busiest door & also hardest to install.
Would definitely recommend Schlage locks. They are one of the simplest locks I have installed.Read full review
