Metal is the only way to go if you have a favorite chair with a cheap plastic base

Plastic bases with heavier people tend to enlarge the caster holes and then they drop out. Even glue doesn't hold for long. Eventually a caster will crack the base. I have found this on several chairs i have used. The metal base will hold up indefinitely and you can chance from chair to chair. Also the cost is less than from the supplier directly.Read full review
