Excellent
An extremely bleak and unexpectedly dark film, Jody Hill's 'Observe and Report' is a foul-mouthed mash-up of black comedy and '70s-style character drama, and an absolutely terrific film. Seth Rogen pulls off possibly his best performance as a bipolar mall cop determined to catch a flasher and redeem himself; he's hilarious and unsettling, often at the same time. But he's only one damaged, disconnected and amoral character among many in a movie where even the likable characters are slightly unhinged. Watch through your fingers if you want to, feel uncomfortable for laughing if you have to - but watch and laugh and be sad and impressed. This is a great movie. So how does it compare with 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop'? I don't know and I've got no interest in finding out.Read full review...
