I've used many types of scissors sharpeners over the years, but none compares to this item. I trust the Fiskars brand so knew right off the bat that it would be quality. It's easy to push the scissors through, then pull back, thus sharpening the blades. It's easy to use and within a few strokes, sharpened my 35 year old pair of Fiskars scissors. The third one I purchased. Defective. Ruined my $20 Fiskar scissors. Sharpener’s ceramic Stone is too soft and chips when used. Made in China. Bad buy. Don’t waste your money.

Doesn’t work at all

We bought this device to sharpen the scissors we use to cut our vacuum sealer bags. Our good Solingen scissors had gotten dull over the years and would no longer cut the bags. We carefully followed the instructions for sharpening written on the packaging. The result was no improvement whatsoever - our scissors still won’t cut the vacuum sealer bags. Read full review

Plastic, but perfect!

Although this is made of plastic, this is one of the BEST scissors sharpeners on the market, and certainly the best I've ever purchased. Yes, it's a "uni-tasker" and ONLY sharpens scissors but it does so easily and correctly.

This particular sharpener "floats" in order to match the exact angle of the scissor blades. I've used it to sharpen several sizes of scissors and shears that I thought had been ruined by a more costly, but far less effective, sharpening tool. It can also be used for both right or left-handed scissors.
