Almost Perfect

I bought this, and an F12TC, mainly to reduce the fan noise.
It has indeed made the PC much quieter, now I'm left with just the cpu and exhaust fans to find replacements for in my quest to make the tower as quiet as possible.

Temperature wise though, in stressful benchmarking, the mobo was 2-3 celcius higher than when using the fan it replaced. 2-3 celcius also on the cpu. For my set up though, these figures are still well within safe limits for the hardware.

Overall I am completely happy, as it is noise reduction I was going for, knowing there will be a small increase in temperature inside the case.

The heat sensor on the fan is also very lengthy and 40cm, it can be placed pretty much anywhere in the case.

Great fan, good price.

The fan is as described, appears well made and I assume will last longer than a generic fan.

The lead on the attached temperature sensor means that the sensor can be placed in the right place to measure a properly representative temperature. The fan speed adjusts to the measured temperature.

I was improving an old computer, in which the graphics card ran hotter than I would like (though well within the design temperatures). It is used for general computing, not intense gaming. I added a fixed-speed fan to suck air into the case and this fan to blow air out of the case from just above the graphics card heatsink. It is controlled by the temperature near the heatsink, when the graphics card is working hard the fan speeds up. I also added a supply duct, made out of cardboard, so that the CPU fan is blowing outside air over the CPU, rather than air from inside the case. The computer was obviously designed by an electrical engineer, rather than a mechanical engineer. The overall result is temperatures which I much prefer, including the temperature of the graphics card reduced from 90-95C to 65-70C when working hard.
