Highly underrated game with state of the art quality.qu

This is a highly underrated game, but it is one of the best sci-fi (horror) dungeon crawlers to be released.
The miniatures are superbly sculpted, although the plastic is a bit difficult to glue (use super glue as plastic cement won't work). Despite the intricate detail, they are easy to paint and work well with most paint brands.
Thw game tells the story of a mysterious cyber-plague that has spr ad on "Alabaster Station" one (or more) player will act like the game Master, controlling zombies and other aberrations created by the "Strain" infection, while the other player(s) will control a number of heroes and grunt "Vanguard" troops.

The game progresses as the vanguard explore the station, finding new evidence of the disaster that struck the base. The horror componwnr comes from the fact the vanguard canbe turned into strain zombies if defeated, attacked or infected, there are ways to prevent this but the game "danger" feel is constant, add to this the capacity for strain zombies o evolve and the inclusion of some very powerful monsters.

The campaign is not long but the game is suitable for expansion, afterwards. Also, there seems to had been a lore in progress which was unfortunately not completed.

Kickstarter sets with player's rewards are the best and can include extra minis, special character versions, extra characters inspired in cameos from famous movie characters (eg.there is a Riddick inspired one, an Aliens Ripley one, etc), cool looking dice, power armors and even a batch. The best perhaps are the glow in the dark zombies and clear camo vanguard grunts.

It is of note to mention several designs.inrensed for.this game were used in CMON 2020 "Project Elite" 2nd edition game so this speaks of the design quality.

It is my understanding, the Kickstarter launch was lacking in some ways, causing the disappointment on many players, particularly in the plastic quality. I don't find any issues with this, being a modeller who has worked with many types of material, other than you need super glue on them. However, I also know many of its detractors haven't even played it.

Overall, still a great purchase.
