Paid for itself on its first outing.

Let me explain why I bought this...

My Alto mixing desk went dead at a gig a few weeks ago. Off went the desk to the UK suppliers for repair - two weeks later and £180 lighter (cheaper than forking out £450+ for a new desk, mind) it was ready to be shipped back. I asked the engineer what might have caused the damage and he confirmed my suspicions it was either a power spike or surge (hardly surprising given the venue's notoriously dodgy sockets).

He recommended this device. I was a bit sceptical at first, because I thought anti-surge board is an anti-surge board, right? Wrong. This 6-way mains conditioner with its wizardry gubbins inside ensures the power remains uninterrupted.

I used it for the first time last week and was glad I did as the venue suffered two momentary power cuts within the space of 10 minutes (talk about lightning never striking twice!) Miraculously the desk remained on, whereas one of the powered speakers and the entire back line on the other side of the stage went as the RCD tripped.

I know this is advertised primarily for Hi-Fi use, but believe me if you run a PA, this is a must have. My only regret is I bought one, but I'll soon be ordering another.

It's all in the mind, as I discovered by accident.

I bought this hoping it would eliminate a very small amount of white noise. It didn't - but the audio seemed transformed! More detail, more attack, but slightly less treble. I tweaked the EQ over several days until I had the sound just perfect, but today I realised that the EQ is now set EXACTLY as it was before I bought the unit and yet the treble has been restored. When I plug the amp into the mains, all the attack is still there and the treble sounds the same. As someone very wise once said, if you are listening for difference, you will hear it because your ears will focus on sounds they don't normally focus on.

I'd send it back but the dog ripped the bubble wrap.

Road to Audio Nirvana

Great product works both on improving sound quality of CD Player, amplifier, sub woofer and surprisingly slightly improved picture on Sony 4K TV. Best used with adjacent Tacima SC5723 Mains Conditioning Plug together they “smooth out” the top end and reveal more detail and lower the noise floor and allow individual vocals and instruments to emerge from a “Wall of Sound”. Less distortion.Read full review...

Great power supply

Does everything as advertised. Be prepared for a 2 meter length of cable that can’t be altered. I like to keep my cables tidy but now have a large loop of spare cable behind the unit. I feel a choice of cable lengths would be a real plus.Read full review...

Definitely worth a try, you'd be surprised how much noise there is on the mains!

Normally I'm skeptical of gadgets marketed to improve the sound quality of your hifi, however I bought this recently to try to filter out the noise coming through my speakers from my power-over-ethernet adapter. And it actually works, really well... not only is there no more crackling when transferring data, but the bass is much more subtle and accurate, and mid/treble is cleaner and clearer. Highly recommended!Read full review...

Good features when settled in.

I gave 4 stars because initially it did not eliminate the hum and sounds of household switching but when I reconnected eon a subsequent occasion the mains hum and interference disappeared. The problem I had at the beginning may have been something to do with an earth connection within my connections via a couple of quitar pedals and studio monitors.
Now, when I am not playing (my electric viola) via this set-up there is absolute silence even when the volume is turned up so perfect.

Well worth the money! Great upgrade for HiFi!!

Transformed the performance of my HiFi system, highly recommended!! :-) Very good for Turntables with direct to mains driven motors Rega RP-1 and others. Great for Amplifiers, tape decks and more. Also very good to plug switching-mode power supplies in to the Tacima to reduce noise on house wiring!Read full review...

Great -does what it says on the box!

Great piece of kit !
For the money , this is an incredibly good buy.
What Hi - Fi magazine has rated this as sublime for some 9 years - I understand why now !
I have always had an admiration of quality hi - fi products that ultimately create a better listening or vision experience.
This excels - the sound on my double cd player and active home speaker set up is so good - it seems like i have paid for a complete new set of equipment at ten times the price / I am very impressed...
I have now added a new set of phono leads from Chord to my line -up - wow - another leap in quality.

Great value mains filter!

I needed to buy a mains extension lead for my hi-fi and laptop to be connected to, and I wanted to surge protect the microprocessors in the laptop and my dac/amp. I read the reviews of this product that were claiming that it may also improve the sound of a system and could lower the noise floor by eliminating stray hum and electrical interference being picked up. I must admit that I was sceptical, but I took a punt and bought it. I'm glad that I did. When I had my system plugged into a conventional mains block, I could hear slight background noise with the volume turned up full and no music playing. With this block, the noise has gone. Its very well made and the cable supplied is much more substantial than previous extension leads that i've seen. Ok, it does cost more than some others, but I think its great value and would strongly recommend it to anyone for using with hi-fi/ pc based gear.Read full review...
