A Solid Title in the Series

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is notorious for being the hardest game in the franchise. I've been playing this game for like 18 years now and it's still hard to me! I definitely wasn't getting those higher scores and combos without a few cheats. If this were your first Tony Hawk game it might discourage you, so I'd go for Tony Hawk's Underground instead.

The graphics aren't terrible, but they haven't aged well. People's faces are JPEG'd to oblivion and you can definitely see the edges and textures in this game. The draw distance is good at least, and runs at 720p on the original Xbox so it's not horrible on modern TVs.

The gameplay itself isn't bad either, but I've been spoiled by later entries to the series allowing you to walk, so general ability to "go from here to there" is pretty low and you do a lot of bouncing off of walls until you're facing the right way. Balance is one of the integral systems in this game and its really unforgiving, so keep grinds and manuashort! Even with the few shortcomings that the basic gameplay has, the levels are all tons of fun (except shipyard) so it's not a total headache to get around.

All in all, if you've played it before or you need it for your collection, it's there. If you've played every other game and want to see if you like this one? You probably won't, but that shouldn't stop you from trying it.

In a sentence, it doesn't look as good as you remember, handles just as bad as you remember, it's HARDER than you remember, but gosh dangit it's still Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.

Tony hawk Product review

I played this game many years ago and was glad i found it online..the price was great and so far the product looks great... Unfortunately i have yet to play it so not sure if it works... Sadly 1 day before i got my game someone stole my original xbox...this upset me because due to my non curable illness, playing video games was what really helped and relaxed me....so now i have to save up for an xbox and from the looks of prices online, its going to cost me more than an arm and a leg...but i am glad i got the game...cant wait to play it......whenever it will be...so the only thing i can rate game on was the timing it took to get it and the price....so far 5 stars from meRead full review...

Old school Tony Hawk game in HD and widescreen. Best ever? You decide.

One of the best on the OG XBOX. It is a great Tony Hawk game, maybe the best in the series, but that's debatable. It is one of the best looking ones that's for sure, as you can play it in 720p widescreen via the OG XBOX. This is almost unheard of for a game system released in 2002. You can find OG XBOX games pretty cheap still these days. I highly recommend this game.Read full review...

Today I'll talk about Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4. For the x

Tony Hawk PS4 is like the older Tony Hawk games, where you go from level to level completing challenges in career mode. Unlike the old ones you don't have a time limit so you can do the goals at your own pace. There is also a two player mode in the game to play with your friends and family. There is also a free skate mode that allows you to skate on any level that you want to. Another mode that allows you to free skate but the goal is to see how many points you can get in a time limit. You can also create your own skater, the customization of the skater is pretty good, but not all that deep like you see in some other games, more or less the basic details. The best thing about creating your own skater you can edit the tricks which means you can make your character do any trick in the game , which is fun. The career mode is the basic part of the game because you can pick from 14 good pro skaters and play thru the game with them which is fun and enjoyable. Another good thing is the loading, it takes no time at all and you are own your way. Some of the challenges are collecting certain amount of items or letters in a time limit by doing tricks. You also got big pro challenges that are really close to the end of the game and these turn out to be pretty tough and it will take some time to beat some of them , You will also earn money while playing thru the game that you can use to buy stuff like new skateboards, skaters and even levels. The graphics are good but not great in this game. Over all this game is easily one of the greatest TH games you will find on any system, if you are a fan of the series you will enjoy this one.Read full review...

This is a good game

The controls are great, level design isn't that great, and the music is on point. For once, they got the chest scaling right, and I loved every second of this game.

Great Game

Having the first 3 on Game Boy Color and to see that they made 4 for the other consoles is great, but the controller layout for the game on xbox, is really satisfying. How you come up with the moves with a controller like xbox is really comfortingRead full review...

Pro Skater 4 - Tony Hawk (xbox)

I bought this for the kids to play with and ended up having devoted quite a bit of time playing this myself. Lots of new terrain to skate in, and new parks to build, and new goals to achieve. It provided a lot of the same fun things as it's predecessors. It was definitely worth the money it can be bought for these days.
The only complaints I have heard from the kids were:
1. You cannot get off of the skateboard in game.
2. If there are multiple players saving games in their own name, it is difficult, if not impossible to re-access them again. This may be a problem on my end, but it was a bit frustrating at times.

Unrecognized Disc

I love this, I love it a lot but this simply doesn’t work. Whenever I place it inside the Xbox it always tells me “Unrecognized Disc”. I’d assume it has something to do with the chipped edges one the disc itself.Read full review...

fun and challenging for my kids without neg. influence

this is the 2nd time i bought this game because my kids really like to play it and the 1st one got scratched up. this game is fairly clean and challenging and my kids like the different tricks they can do and areas to skate in and unlike some other tony hawk games where there is violence i haven't notice any in this one so i feel it doesn't have a negative influence on my kids they acually started to want to skate board themselvesRead full review...
