Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 for Nikon

This lens was made for both Nikon/Canon cameras (& others). The reason I bought it was to replace a similar model which a "ham-fistd" cousin thinking it was STUCK, twisted the focusing ring thinking it was the zoom AND promptly broke it. It still automacally focuses. On eBay I purchased another under $100 which seemed to snap into focus much quicker!!! This has been a workhorse and at that price is a real bargain on my Nikon D70 & D90. Anyone on a budget or JUST STARTING would be smart to buy this lens if they couldn't afford a newer higher-priced model.Read full review...

Excellent lens. Great result. I love using this lens in shooting videos.

An excellent purchase. Considering the price, I did not expect much from this lens, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is not as sharp as I would want it to be, but then, I am being unfair when I compare it to lens costing thousands of dollars. It does perform well for my needs and the purpose of getting the lens; to make videos. When it comes to convenience, the 28mm to 300mm is ideal and to be able to shoot macros is an additional bargain. I am like everyone else. I shoot videos and put them up on YouTube. I shoot under the name of microdac. to see what this lens have accomplished, go to my channel and type in "Sigma 300" in the search engine and you be the judge. I will be getting another Sigma lens (similar to this one) for my other Canon camera.Read full review...

Can't beat the price

Sigma definitely improved over their old 28-300mm when they came out with this DG version. Size was reduced and pictures with the digital cameras went up. I attach this lens on my Canon 6D and I do not need another lens !! The price can't be beat ( save hundreds over the Canon version ) only thing lacking is OS(optical stabilization)....but price goes up. If you keep your prints to 4X6 you won't be able to see the differenceRead full review...

great value, good lens

Not a super-fast lens, but then again, I wasn't looking for one. Great price, regardless. Image quality is good, although there are some aberrations at long focal lengths. Build quality is good. You will find lens creep when hanging your camera around your neck, but you can always lock the lens to keep it in place. Overall, I would recommend this lens to a friend.Read full review...

Great lens for those who want a all in one lens for fraction of the price.

This lens is great for the budget photographer. Built quality of this lens is exceptional. I use this lens on my Canon T3i and it works great. This lens covers wide at 28mm to fully zoomed telephoto at 300mm. Only dislike's that I find on this lens is that it's noisy when using auto focus, and picture tends to loose quality in low light situations. This lens however adds weight to my T3i which it is front heavy. Also lens tends to pull out when facing your DSLR downward, thus I guess the reason why Sigma puts a lock switch on the lens. Overall this lens is a good upgrade from the kit lens (Multi purpose lens). Although this model in particular is now outdated, it is still a great buy out there on ebay. Got mine for less than $200.Read full review...

this lens is just an all around good lens the focus is a little slow but takes great pics and stay on my camera (sony a380) about 90% of the time great for portaits and general shooting i would not recomend this for sports. How ever with my 2.0 teleconverter it will shoot a f64 SOOOOO nice for landscape i would recomend this lens for anyone wanting just an all around general pupose lens.Read full review...

Highly recommend if you want a one lens solution!

This lens is a must have for anyone who wants to have that point and shoot capability with the quality of a DLSR. This is the perfect solution for a general use lens, it is great for someone trying to get into the business without sinking a fortune into lenses.

The Sigma 20-300mm Lens will allow you take pictures from crowd shoots to close-ups and scenic to portrait photos. The F/ is the only thing that can be considered a limitation or downfall to this lens. Night shooting or low light scenes are difficult to zoom in on without a high ISO. But, considering that you get the capability of multiple lenses in one at a fraction of the cost, I can walk in a little closer and zoom out to get a better picture.
