Great value - but beware of the smell!

This 5kg sack of mealworms is excellent value for money, especially when compared to smaller quantities of worms in the shops.

However, do be aware that this quantity of mealworms emit an unpleasant, musty smell. The 'raffia' type material of the sack is porous which allows the contents to keep aired but it also lets the smell of the worms out. I made the mistake of keeping the sack indoors at first but it's now in an outside cupboard where it doesn't cause a problem. I suppose another answer would be to decant the worms into sealed containers in smaller amounts.

I put some of these out every morning for my garden birds and they are cleared within an hour! Excellent Quality Product at a Good Price

The mealworms arrived in good lightweight packaging that can easily be recycled. They tend to be an expensive bird food, but the Maltby's mealworm product is good value and is cheaper than many without loss of quality.

Brilliant Price

This is my 3rd order from Maltbys of these mealworms & every time I’ve bought from them I’m impressed with not only the product but the service, quality, quantity & packaging.
We like to feed the wild birds that come into our garden & they love these. We used to buy from another supplier but they always took an age getting to us & the actual amount never seemed to be quite right.
We put these down throughout the year especially in the winter (along with other food), we seem to have the same beautiful creatures coming back time after time (especially the robins, blackbirds & wagtails), it’s a real pleasure to watch them.

Always great quality

Good fare price for the amount you get. I weighed the bag and it was the correct advertised weight. I always do a "crush" test to check to see if the worms are stale , these always crush to dust so proves they're fresh. They always get eaten, never left by the birds. Bird food

Hi, the birds love these worms so I can highly recommended these as the birds seem to know when we put them out as they just swarm all over the table to get at these, we also feed hedgehogs these as they also really enjoy them. It is just fantastic just watching the wild life in our garden and seeing the fledglings and hoglets feeding, I do highly recommend this product from a great retailer who gets these for delivery very quickly, as I ordered on a Saturday and they arrived on a Monday morning, fantastic 1st class service.

Quality feed

This is super quality feed. Every time I spread some around the garden the birds flock in, and seem to enjoy it. This last order was to replenish my supply, which I use all of the year.
