Great quality

For the guy who said his network was hacked as soon as he installed it; he didn’t know what he was doing. Cisco is a standard in IT security. Cisco firewalls are strong and great at keeping the bad guys out. The Pix 501 is no exception. Most Cisco products are not for the novice user. You have to have a strong grasp of Cisco commands and configuration to be able to make them work the way they are designed. Being Cisco certified helps. Again,,, THESE ARE NOT FOR THE HOME USER OR SMALL BUSINESS OWNER WHO WILL BE DOING HIS OWN SETUP AND IT WORK. These are commercial/military grade products that require actual education and/or training to make them work! The 501 is an older router and the max throughput is 10 megs/s and for some that won’t be enough. But for anyone running a T1 or a broadband connection that isn’t super high speed this is a great product that will serve you well for many years. The military still has some 501’s in use on unclassified networks. I use one at home on my kids network for content control and keeping their computers safe. If you are taking classes on Cisco OS right now this would be a great item to buy to practice on.Read full review...
