Bought my ct1005 on eBay a year ago from a different retailer . The dies did not fully close when empty such that stranded wire at the thinner end of the range did not grip and wire at the upper end could be pulled out of the crimped connector by hand. It was necessary to pack some material (I used 1mm copper wire see photo) between the dies and the body. This is easily done by loosening the screw securing the die to allow for shimming.
Then the crimping pliers worked fine. ( may be necessary to adjust the ratchet position using the scalloped -A+ adjuster but mine was fine)Read full review...

Pros -
A good range of crimping jaws, as yet I have only used for insulated and non insulated spade terminals but excellent results, even on the smallest with fine wire - no distortion. (If not sure how to crimp, look on You tube)
