AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4 GHz (ADA3800IAA4CW) Processor

a nice cheap upgrade

I had an aging dell that i wanted to see if i could turn into an acceptable htpc. Being limited to single core means cpu is a major bottleneck. This cpu is 400mhz faster than the one i replaced. Not enough to make a major difference in performance but for the price i figured why not. The cpu arrived into great condition and the system booted right up on the first try. I've also not had any crashes or stability issues at all.

Had a dell c521:
-upgraded from Athlon 2.0ghz cpu to 24ghz
-added an HD 7470 1gb ddr3
-6gb ddr2 800mhz ram
-pcie sata card to add achi support {system only supported IDE}
-added pci wireless card
-7200 rpm sata II hard drive
