I got it within a couple of days after order and was very happy about it then i opened my computer remove the heat sync cleaned it and applied some thermal paste to the new cpu and put it in the socket put my heat sync back on tested it and it worked! Good product for mild system upgrade

Since a major computer update is astronomical in costs, took my old asus m2n-sli deluxe and upgraded CPU from 4800 w/1gb memory and increased efficiency with a 6000 2gb duel core chip. 125 TDP version of the quickest of this series processor - just be sure it will work for you.

If you have an older AMD Socket AM2 PC, say of the Windows Vista or early Windows 7 era and you want to upgrade the Athlon 64 x2 series processor - this is as fast as they go. Now you do need to make sure the power supply and motherboard will support this 125 thermal power design Windsor version as many systems are limited to the more costly 89 TPD version.

For me, this works well in my trusty old Dell Inspiron 531 that I purchased new in 2007 and has helped keep it in service just a little longer running Windows 7. Will it make your vintage PC a gaming monster? Of course not. But it will keep it up to the performance of entry level new PCs provided RAM is also up to modern needs. Read full review

The computer is a Dell Inspirion 531s from 2008. I bought this chip to replace an AMD Sempron single core 2.1GHz processor. I put this chip in after updating the BIOS. I noticed the speed immediately. I'm Using Windows 7 Professional the web pages load fast and most importantly YouTube loads fast. Video playback has improved so much. I also put in a new/used GPU, ATI Radeon 2400XT 256MB. I added 2GB single memory card for a total of 4GB. I can now play Street Fighter IV that I bought in 2009!! Decent performance boost for older systems
