Powerful UPS, handles PFC
APC BR1500G is highly recommended. Produces about 900W of electricity, has 1500VA of power. Was uncertain if it could handle APFC power supplies (the new ones) without shutting down, but after testing the unit by disconnecting the plug, worked no problem. Also concerned that the unit would not handle my PC and associated hardware, but after everything was hooked up, my setup only pulled less than 300W, and the unit could power that long enough to shut everything down safely. Added plus, replacement batteries are about $20 each (uses 2), so when the batteries die (suggested life is 3 years) I don't have to purchase this again -- just replace. Bad part is that it comes with a proprietary USB cable (one end looks normal USB, other end looks like RJ45, but is expanded), not sure why they did that... why not just a standard USB cable? The powerchute software (APC brand power management software) seems to work fine and has plenty of options to please all. Recommended! Read full review

Great versatile UPS for the home
I have two of these that i've bought as reconditioned units with new batteries. This UPS is a small commercial version so it's built really well and are a great value used/reconditioned. I power my entire entertainment center system using one and it's great not to have to reset the equipment every time there is a power outage. Love it.Read full review

Good Quality UPS
I purchased this unit as a replacement for a Cyberpower CP1500VRT that started to fail to support output during power failures. This unit appears to be a higher quality UPS although it is also made in China. One of the factors influencing purchase of this model is the ability to add additional batteries which adds about another 2/3 time to support the output. APC advises users to replace the batteries every 3 years. Only issue was the seller did not include the specially made communications cable however, they are readily available on ebay for around $10.
The batteries in Cyberpower were replaced for $35,50 and now it work like new. The batteries for Cyberpower lasted over 4 years.Read full review

These APC Units work great for protecting your computers from damage during electrical surges. I have owned one for over 5 years now and bought another one for another computer I built. Works good, easy to setup
UPS was very easy to setup. Basically plug in and start. Only hitch was that there is one special outlet on the back which if the device goes off will shut down the rest. The outlet is physically cramped (tight) so that I couldn't use the extension cord I have for it. Otherwise, it is a very nice unit.Read full review

portable and powerful
I have one of these holding up two big home theater amps, a 65" plasma television, two DVRs, three subwoofers, and two routers. Every input is plugged, every device turned on. I have not heard any complaints from the unit. We use these where I work in our data center. Never had problems with them. Perfect for my Entertainment center
Last week we had some really bad power blips where the power turned on and off almost 10 times which is extremely bad for electronics and my entertainment center took a hit. I've had almost 500 bucks of electronics fry in the past 5 years because of the blips and finally decided to invest in a decent battery back up so I can have some time to turn off all electronics and safely unplug until the blip passes. This APC back up is really worth it and is really powerful! Handles my TV, Roku, PS4, Switcher, and surround sound system with still 26-30 mins of estimated back up battery! Not to mention this really helped with wire organization as my entertainment center was a mess of power strips. If you're looking for decent protection on a budget go for this! I will likely be buying another if it holds up. I bought mine used from a supposed office tech part out sale so I got it for a screaming deal but time will tell how long this will hold up.
