Good and low cost
I built a very nice computer using this mother board. It was only $99.00 including shipping. It allowed for 8 core processors with plenty of speed for modern games and HD video streaming and HD video rendering. It has been very reliable, and I've had no compatibility issues. I put in an ATI video card, a USB3 card reader, a PCI to Fire wire card. Like any hot shot board it needs good air flow. The only issue I had was the video card got clogged with dust and the system wouldn't turn on due the video processor over heating. This I believe was the fault of my cat and my video card air flow system not being able to handle cat hair. Anyway I think you will really enjoy this board. One of the reasons I bought this board over others was it was one of the last boards to have a traditional mouse PS2 connection and a FireWire connection. I believe the M5A99 does not. I find PS2 connections to be more reliable, as USB mice don't always work when you turn on the computer.Read full review
On a scale of 1 to 10, a 6
It does it's job and does not break. I got this board only because at its $45 price point it was practically a steal, I would not pay more than $50 for this motherboard and I'm seeing people buy it for $100! I'm fully aware that the LE for this motherboard probably stands for Light Edition as opposed to Limited Edition as is normally what L.E. stands for. This makes sense because this motherboard's CPU power connector is only a 4-pin instead of your usual 8-pin and it's missing a large heatsink available on the normal M5A97. This will severely cripple any of you out there who are planning to overclock your CPU on this motherboard. I'm not sure but I also think this motherboard is only Crossfire capable and not SLI capable but even still, why would anybody bother to go to such great lengths of upgrades on such a basic motherboard?
This motherboard actually has more disadvantages than advantages but the reason why I'm giving it a 6 out of 10 is because it's very reliable and dependable despite its many flaws.Read full review

A really fast board for an affordable price.
I ordered this board and my new CPU from different sellers. So recieving the board first I just installed my old sempron 140 2.7 GH cpu. With that same CPU my windows 7 and 10 performance went up dramaticly!. Getting the whole EFI/UEFI system online for the first time was challenging, but after you learn the new system... this board is just FANTASTIC. It will work with old bios setups btw, I just see it as a waste to stay with that system at this point. The m5a97 le r2 will work with the older power supply type with the 4 pin extra plug. the other versions of this board need the larger type. This board is a great upgrade along with the new UEFI system and maybe a 4TB hard drive and new cpu. This board has an adjustment and readout for every voltage and setting you can think of. 5 stars :)Read full review

Older model that still competes with the Big Boys!
I bought this motherboard as the bones of a gaming and video editing system. I coupled it with 16GB Kingston Hyper X Genesis RAM, and AMD FX-8100 processor and a Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC Edition GPU.
This is a full-featured motherboard with FOUR DDR3 DIMM slots, two PCI-e x16 slots, two PCI-e x1 slots and two PCI slots. This allows for easy and cheap upgrades as you can increase your GPU performance with two cheaper cards, or cut down on your cost of memory by utilizing all four RAM slots. A 32GB memory allowance keeps this board up to date for years to come. The AM3+ socket is capable of running some of AMD's newest 4-core, 6-core and 8-core FX and FX-Unlocked processors allowing for great multi-tasking and gaming performance. You will also save on the purchase of AMD processors versus their Intel counterparts. An On-Board USB 3.0 controller as well as a whopping 8 USB ports mounted to the board in total will never leave your mobile devices abandoned!
If you're looking for a full-size board that won't leave you strapped for cash, but still keep you running with some of today's newest games or fads, grab one of these refurbished boards today!Read full review

Asus features like AI Suite II and the UEFI BIOS are very friendly users & perform extremely well
It is, in my opinion, still a very high performance motherboard. UEFI BIOS is one of the 1st asus ever made but it is remarkably stable and easy to configure.

No issues, but I am not 100% sure it is new
No issues, but I am not 100% sure it is new. But runs fine. Not all the parts with a normal MoBo were in the box. Value was there, lit up without having to do anything special. They asked if I wanted the latest version of BIO's flashed prior to shipment, and I did. This is a board from the 2012-2104 era but it is what I needed and works fine in my old PC.Read full review
