One of the best socket 478 motherboards
Supports not just 400 MHz DDR (DDR is the maximum for socket 478 and 400 MHz is the maximum for DDR, at least consumer-available) but it also supports ECC. Tried and tested it myself with 400 MHz ECC DDR.
Has one of the latest AGP standards, I'm sure any of the last AGP video cards work without a problem - Radeon HD 3850, 4650 and 4670.
Also, this is one of a handful of motherboards compatible with the Asus CT-479, which is a converter allowing you to use Intel's socket 479 processors (those were used in laptops and in a few native socket 479 desktop motherboards)Read full review

Rats. Expected better.
Arrived without the connector escutcheon plate. At least half the connectors had bent pins and the IDE secondary connector housing was broken with severely bent pins from careless removal.
The processor ran hot to the limit (heatsink with new grease was way too warm and the fan was running full speed) and I luckily was able to use the old one out of the previous mobo.
The sound section does not work. Period. Tried reloading the drivers from my ASUS P4 driver CD (Soundmax AC97) and also from the ASUS website specifically for the P4C800 (also Soundmax AC97).
The only real advantage to installing this mobo is getting around the random freezing of the hardware on the old mobo.Read full review

Awesome motherboard
I wanted to rebuild my first gaming PC, and with this kit I got most of what I needed.
The motherboard is working just fine. The cooler had to be upgraded (modded an Cooler Master Hyper 212). The P4 Prescott's are furnaces and so is the 875i chipset. If you need to heat your room during the winter and also like retro gaming, it's the perfect combo. You enjoy yourself and stay warm at the same time 😉. Almost forgot to keep the chipset cool had to also add a 40mm fan on it. Had a Noctua NF-A4x20 lying around and Jimmy rigged it to the chipset to keep it below 40 cRead full review

478skt Overclocking classic
One of the great OC boards of its time. Capable of overclocking any compatible hardware. On air, a 3.7ghz clock speed is easily reached using any P4 533 or 800mhz FSB
