The best car mount/holder I've ever used.
After using car mounts that go on the windscreen and other versions which go into the CD slot like this, this particular car mount beats them all. It fits nicely in the CD slot and the tightening screw does a good job of securely keeping it in the CD slot without damaging anything. The spring part which you open to put the phone(mines 5.2inches) is fantastic as it's just the right tension to make it easy to open and hold the phone in securely. Also this spring open mechanism is much better than the button release ones which break after a while, once I was using those and the phone just fell out near my pedals I find them dangerous so switch to this spring one instead. The red grips where it holds the phone are rubber and at no point does it feel like the phone will fall off. Some advice: Make sure your phones volume/power buttons are away from the red grips as they might get pressed whilst driving. Another plus no ports get blocked. You can use the phone in landscape or portrait mode and it's easy to switch between the two as it has a pivot. Feels sturdy. A bit of shaking where the pivot point is whilst the car is over rough roads but doesn't affect the use of sat-nav and after a while you don't really notice it. If it wasn't for that I would have given it full marks but it still gets a very high 9.5/10. I have ordered again for another car it's that good.Read full review...

Good concept, poor design
First and foremost it doesn’t fit into my wife’s CD player in her car (Nissan Note) which it was bought for - too thick to even go into the slot. The ball socket cannot be tightened enough to hold the phone firmly in place - it creeps down and when phone keyboard pressed it moves away/changes position - similar to when you enter your pin on a mounted card reader (e.g. as in a supermarket), you need two hands sometimes!
The concept is good but the design is not - it covers the buttons/air vents/vital controls of the radio and other functions, even a gear stick in one car!
Conclusion: certainly not universal, needs further development. Have several variants to fit different makes/models of cars/vans/lorries. For the record it does fit several cars I tried it in - but the position is not always possible to see the screen or restricts action to drive vehicle safely.Read full review...

Best mount I've used
I've used about 5 different types of mounts but this is far the best ! I drive lots of different vehicles and this fits perfectly in all ! Feeble packaging
I purchased this product and discovered that the packaging was not up to standard. The holder is made of plastic and it was sealed in a plastic bag with no cushion bubble wrap. Subsequently, the holder was damaged in transit whereby the fish-tail end would not clamp the device in the cd slot.

Perfect positioning
We were really pleased to have bought this car vent phone holder before our epic trip across France! Unlike window mounted phone holders, it stayed stable, was easy to slot the phone in and out of and had the added bonus of keeping the phone cool whilst we were using phones for sat nav. Think about where your cd is located n your car before you buy this. It's a great product and fits well, but I have an Astra the CD player is low down in the dashboard. This meant every time I changed gear I hit the holder with my knuckles after a few times of this happening I ripped it out and threw it to the back of the car.Read full review...
