Sticky trigger

You get what you pay for. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a nice reel for a good price. However, the reel, itself was sticky, as well as the trigger. Great all around reel

I bought this as just a cheaper reel to use on a dedicated top water setup for poppers, buzzbaits, etc.
was really surprised at the performance of the reel. I have 2 bass pro shops pro qualifier reels and didn't want to buy another one just to have on a rod I would only use occasionally and the black max 2 surprised me. No backlashes and easy to tune. If I didn't already have the pro qualifiers and needed a few more reels I would definitely get a couple more black max reels. I just sold two Pflueger supreme bait casting reels because I didn't like just the magnetic brakes and love the pro qualifier dual brakes. But the magtrax braking system or whatever it is called on the black max works really well. Great reel, but it was used

The reel is fantastic, however the ad said that the reel had never been used. Upon initial inspection and cleaning, I found sand in some of the small reel parts clearly indicating that it was used or just dropped in sand before it was shipped.Read full review
