Agatha Christie's Poirot: Complete Cases Coll (DVD)

Exactly what it promised to be and a bit better.

The packing case is efficiently thought out; it was a relief to find out that there is no big struggle to locate or take out any disc. I was also very pleasantly surprised that a small episode guide (including actor/actress and other filming info) was included.

While $100+ at first struck me as expensive, it is more than a reasonable price once one considers the investment all the participants of this show have put into the series and the fact that one is receiving the entire series in one compact, pretty, and streamlined package.

Such a Wonderful Series, So Poor Qualitiy

Poirot is such a great series and David Suchet leads a great ensemble cast as the little odd man, Poirot! I cannot say enough good things about the series.

However, the quality of the set is unfortunately very poor. :( The discs are housed poorly in plastic turnstiles and discs easily come unlodged. Several discs will not play properly with skipping, and this is my second set. The manufacturers should not have released this set in such poor quality. The Perfect Gift!

Stellar Stories :)

I have loved Sherlock Holmes for years, didnt think I would find another detective that I liked as well as him. Then I found Poirot :)

The main character Poirot, is played so perfectly and so stellar by actor David Suchet that the entire series is a joy to watch. He plays all of Poirots idiosyncrasies so well. An excellent accent and attitude for the character.

The collection itself is amazing. The box itself has a drop-down front and a flip-top that when closed holds the front closed as well. The discs are in good, plastic cases on individual trays. Also included is a small book of various details about the series.

Overall, this is simply put, a stellar collection that is well worth the price. :)

Mine at last!

Finally! My Poirot watching is not subject to the whims of Netflix or Amazon! I now own the entire collection, including the elusive seasons 1-6 which were cruelly snatched away from our streaming services. The DVDs arrived quickly and were carefully packaged. This is one of the very best series ever created, in my opinion. The creators took great care to take you back in time to a period when personalities were the story and not technology, politics, political correctness, violence, etc. All of the players are exceptional and the mysteries never disappoint. Good value and a complete series.

I love the old mystery characters, Charlie Chan,Thin Man, Sherlock so this helps complete my collection. I have only seen 6 discs so far and basically good with one exception, for being DVDs they are just a little not as clear as I would have thought they should be. All in all a good value and passable for viewing.

I'm a very big fan of Agatha Christie, so I was thrilled to purchase this set. The only problem is that

Love this collection, watch it repeatedly!

My husband and I have watched this entire collection several times. The choreography is stunning, they find the gorgeous classic cars, the clothes, the stage the sets to make you feel like you're back in the day Poirot would have lived, it is unbelievable! Great acting on behalf of Mr. Suchet. Our favorite actor for playing Poirot. This collection will one day become worn out from watching, and we'll happily replace it. BTW, IMHO Mr. Suchet does the best Poirot. Especially in Murder on the Orient Express, which is one of the movie - length disks in this,set. Great value for your money. Comes with wonderful booklet. There is one film in this set I could only watch once, the last one as Mr. Poirot solved his last mystery while dying in hospital. Was so sad, like losing an old friend, even though he's really just a made up character. I hears they ran an obituary in the London newspaper after that performance, as Poirot had become that real to so many people. That says a lot about Mr. Suchet's acting ability when people mourn the loss of a fictional character! Read full review
