Powered optical smoke alarm
The smoke alarm is hot Into the ceiling, and it synced with the same model smoke alarms around the house.
This is a great safety feature. When one goes off, they all go off together..
A constant green light that shows it is working.
When the alarm goes off, you get a flashing blue light that also alerts the other devices as they are radio controlled.
Good news is the Fire Brigade said every 10 years you only need to change the main body, not the base of the fire alarm even though the base itself has a 10 date It doesn’t need replacing because it’s hotwired into the mains power. I’m very happy with this product.Read full review

This unit is designed to be able to be linked to other alarms on the mains circuit, but the chip that allows them to be linked has been removed from this item. It works as a stand-alone unit only.

Better safe than sorry
I had four Aico (hard wired battery back up) smoke detectors around the house, which were over their "use by date". I decided to replace with this Aico model, which is also hard wired and with a battery back up. The Ei3016 is fairly easy to install but not retro fit for my old square type ones.
To install. Turn of power, remove old detector, connect the 4 ( live, neutral, inter connect (ic) and earth) wires correctly ( if you inadvertently cross the wiring it will most probably blow all detectors on the system) to the new base plate, double check the wiring for tightness and the correct positioning. Fit the baseplate to the ceiling. Slide the detector on to the base plate and switch on the power. Test the detector and the link to the others on the system.......Job done, test monthly and forgot about replacing for a decade😁 Read full review

Great easy fit smoke alarm.
Bought this to replace 2 very old previous Aico wired smoke alarms. This was a slightly different design, round not square like old one, but it was a straight forward swap, thankfully the main wiring position was simliar so lined up nicely so able to position ok without making another hole in ceiling for wiring. Easy to fit and both work as they should.Read full review

A simple refit
Shocked that my old 10yr ei160 ionizing smoke alarms were way way out of date, I bought these optical ones and they slid onto the old base plate a treat. Just like changing a bulb. Magic.
