Interesting yeast. I don't get the quoted speed but I do ferment in gallon batches at room temp (20c)
Bought this on a whim as I've just started homebrewing. I've made a few different fruit based wines, including supermarket juice based wines, but fancied seeing what a turbo could do.
What results do I have?
Better than expected. From start to racked, cleared and bottled fruit free wine in a week. I've no intention to distil so I make batches in gallon demijohns, only one at a time, by splitting the Alcotec 48hr into 5 separate yeast portions. My room temperature is 19>20c which is on the cool side, certainly for the lower alcohol fermentations (I normally aim for 15%), so I'm sure I could get a faster result by fermenting at about 30c but this works fine for me.
Flavour? Not bad at all. I've heard people say that turbo yeasts taste awful, but I think if you go for lower temperatures and don't push them they are fine. I haven't tried using one for a fruit based wine yet (not really what turbo yeast is designed for!) but will probably do that next, with a side by side using my normal 'express' wine yeast, which I believe is actually a champagne yeast. High speed yeast
Never expected it to ferment as good as it was. Only thing with this type of yeast is the smell after distillation but if you use a column filter with activated charcoal it clears and gives a beautiful tasting and smelling spirit.

Top stuff
I put this yeast in with the grapes from my garden and 6 bags of sugar. The result was great, a nice strong dry rose wine. I left it for about 10 days to ferment...it was a furious fermentation too.

Mixed this with 6kg of normal sugar and added turbo carbon. Then 2 days later added turbo clear and 24 hours after I had 25 litres of 15% alcohol. Mixed this with fruit juice, lovely stuff!
