Stormbreaker and the character Alex Rider are recognised by most kids.

Bought for a reluctant young reader and, with a bit of encouragement they are being read at an increasing pace. A good story with typical 'Spy Advertures' that most youngsters fantasize about. Every kid wants to be a mini James Bond ! Probably a present day version of Cowboys and Indians and enjoyed by kids from the age of 10 to 100. Completely different style to the Harry Potter series but equally compelling. Most kids seem to recognise a film called Stormbreaker, which is basically the story of book 1. An ideal gift for any youngster who likes reading books but, if you have a youngster from about the age of 9 or 10 and upwards, girl or boy, who could do better with their reading, this series might just help. Excellent books for a teenager

My Son loves these books, we bought one to try out and he loved it that much we decided to get a box set. He tends to read mostly books that are in a series. Alex Rider seems a winner.

Good for an 11 year old

My 11 year old son is really enjoying this series. Hence I am now buying copies as birthday presents for his friends.

There are good "in between" reading books, i.e. more complex language than things such as the beast quest series but not too hard to be off putting.Read full review...
