Kawasaki ZX9R C & E Front brake master cylinder repair kit

This kit was the cheapest option from all the kits (at the time) as it doesn't provide the actual aluminium plunger part. However this part doesn't wear in anyway as the seals touch the sides NOT the plunger so I was happy to pay a lot less than the kits that provide this element with them - for this kit. ALL the parts were of equivalent quality to the standard OE parts. The only issue is getting the 'in place' circlip out to do the job. A 'tip': mount the master cylinder in a vice with the plunger section facing up towards you -
obviously line your vice with some rag (if you don't have rubber vice grips for your vice). Take the rubber boot off the end of the plunger, rotate the ends of the circlip to the open section (you will see what I mean when you do the job) & then align the slot for the rubber boot at the end of the plunger with the circlip (it's tricky as the plunger is sprung loaded - another person holding down the plunger with something would help immensely at this point-I managed it on my own with some errrr 'blue air' lol). I had to file down the tips to my Snap-on circlip pliers I have to get into the holes of said circlip as they are small. Bring the 2 half's of the circlip together into the recess of the plunger & allow the plunger spring tension to pull the old circlip out - if your being assisted tell the person to allow the plunger up as soon as the circlip ends are in the recess.
The old circlip is reusable BUT a new 1 comes with this kit so I replaced it anyway + the old 1 was a tad rusty - I've kept it as a spare. I always put a bit of copper ease in the recess for the circlip for future ease of removal & to stop the circlip getting rusty over time as even with the rubber boot this tends to happen.
