Steve Martins character gains a split personality from a wealthy woman's spirit after it has left the wealthy woman's body (played by Tomlin) so one half of Steve Martins body acts like a man and the other half half acts like a woman after a dead woman's body dies and leaves the soul/spirit Earthbound, this male verses female struggle for dominance is hilarious with a third woman character fighting to rob Tomlin and Martins split personality character of the Tomlin's previous dead character inheritance.
