awesome product, over millions of collection of books to choose from !
was hesitating to buy one initially as could not think of ever giving up the pleasures of reading a hard bound. But a friend convinced me and decided to gift my self a kindle at Christmas. Must say, its been a wonderful purchase. Dont miss my hard bound, reading is just as efficient on the Kindle. Dont need to carry my books around as can download whatever i want to read in an instant from wherever I am. Has a great battery life so dont even have to worry about the charging. A great e-reader.
This is very comfortable to read. It's possible to make the text size a little larger.
The battery doesn't last a month in normal use, only about a week (which is long enough anyway to be useful.) Of course it depends on 'normal.' For me that is reading a newspaper each day, and also spending a couple of hours or more reading a book (depends on time available).
If you read in bed, it is much more comfortable to hold than a book.

perfect gift
I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and has not put it down much. The weight, storage and battery life make it a must take to all places. The screen is easy to read from as well.
Quality, value, educational, entertaining, convenient, & already essential
Entry level equipment but outstanding. I wasn't sure what to expect, but have enjoyed using it regularly, reading an old favourite book and new material alike.
Easy to use, fabulous for journeys. Mine came with the standard case, which is perfectly adequate.
Takes a moment or two to figure out how to navigate (after having had a smartphone for a few months, I was tapping and swiping, but this is one generation older than that and you have to hold down the correct button, which isn't exactly rocket science.
Love it, and mine cost only £35, so I reckon I got a good deal.Read full review...

MY husband has arthritis in his hands and unable to hold a book for any length of time so I bought him a Kindle for Christmas. The instructions for use are simple and easy to follow and the Kindle it'self so light to hold. I am thinking of buying one for myself...maybe a larger size if there is one.Read full review...
learn, read, and recycle
this is an excellent product and was purchased for my wife who is an avid book reader, but has recently found it difficut to read small print and the kindle with its various type sizes has allowed her to read books again, also we can declutter by sending all those books to the charities shops so other people can afford to buy them and return the books back to the charities thus helping everyone to donate and help recyclingRead full review...

excelent product would love to be able to use an sdc card for expansion option. only 2gb built in however file types are compact . ink screen is fantastic for reading and low power consumption is a big welcome. i think amazon should provide better specs to view when choosing a kindle.Read full review...
