Antex Soldering Iron; powered by battery? You had better believe it!

I was sceptical, could a battery powered iron compete with the gas driven option? I am amazed, it is quick and convenient, heats up well and solders wires and components easily and cleanly. The choice of a pointed or chisel tip makes any job simple.
Although heavier than a plug in version the absence of a cable more than makes up for the weight, especially for "in situ" work and it is small enough to have in your tool-bag all the time, ready for on the spot repairs to hard to remove circuits.
