Emotive guitar & keyboard music from a respected composer/musician.

I've been listening to Anthony Phillips since his first solo album, "The Geese & The Ghost", which I bought on LP in 1977 - I already knew of him from "Trespass", the second Genesis LP, but the cover painting sold it to me.
His output is very large, and I don't profess to like it all but still have 20 or so CDs.
My original CDs are on Virgin, rather hastily produced at times, the splendid artwork not shown at its best, even for such a small unit [best seen on LP] so I've begun to investigate the reissues by Voiceprint, as they have been appearing at reasonable prices.
This pair sound excellent and have their covers, by Peter Cross, reproduced in a superior way.
They also contain essays detailing the recording process.
Earlier Anthony Phillips is more my line, being largely instrumental, pastoral guitar or piano pieces - these were not composed as specific albums but compiled from previously unreleased material, though they work very well.
If the covers interest you, you'll probably appreciate the musical content - he's a great, modern composer of much imagination, and a musician of skill and subtlety with many instruments, acoustic and electric, stringed or keyboard.
You can't go wrong with these two.
