great sound easy(ish) to setup
They sound great, but you need to follow the instructions to set them up after that it's a doddle to use them.
I have two of them connected to an Apple TV 4k and they really lift the sound and add depth and base

AirPlay2 has huge lags. macOS integration is half-assed. Siri is too primitive to work with Spotify.
Stereo mode works only in iOS. On macOS a pair of speakers is visible as two mono speakers.
Switching is slow, flaky, and audio playback has a huge lag. Nothing has substantially improved with AirPlay2 update.
There's no integration with Spotify, and Siri in general is useless.

The best sounding home speaker
This is perfect for what I need. It sits in the corner of my kitchen and the sound is truly awesome. Clean, balanced and full. We all know that Apple is behind on the voice assistant, Siri, so it’s not that good for actually assisting you but that will improve with software updates. It’s also limited in how you can connect to it - Apple devices only. But if you’re ok with that, it works a treat whether I’m in the room or outside.Read full review

With the release of the second generation these original ones have come down in price.

Great sounds from Apple HomePod
This is now my second purchase of the HomePod and pairing them both up the sound is fab and even better when connected to the Apple TV. Its a great soutions for anyone whos in the Apple eco system which lets TV become smarter with control via SIRI and the sound is wow.
Please dont compare theses to a soundbar as you are using bluetooth to connect but for what they are value for money and great quality.
However I did return the white HomePod as I find them for the same price at John Lewis with two year warrnty instead of one.
But I would recommend a BUY as Apple may stop selling them for a small and cheaper unit. And you know with Apple products these will hold them price when in demand.Read full review
