Functions good set up difficult.

Works well as screen mirroring good quality pictures and net flicks runs well. I had great difficulty trying to set it up entering correct Apple ID and password. Eventually got help from techno savvy person and you need to turn off all Apple devices except one and when the notifications flashes up on the screen press “Allow“ and record the six digit code. This has to be entered after your second attempt to enter ID in the same window as your password continuous with it. The remote and on screen keypad make this difficult procedure especially for elderly ones. However want set up it is very useful and the Ramult is adequate for normal use and light to handle.Read full review

Jailbroken apple tv

This particular apple tv 2 was jailbroken, and it took quite a long time to set it up correctly. It wouldn't mirror my mac until I figured out what the problem was. Once I had completely restored it to factory settings, it worked fine.Read full review

iCloud log in very difficult

After a lot of research, I realised that due to 2 factor authentication the 6 digit code needs to be entered after your password.
However, due the 30 second expiration time of the code. I had to type the password and use the generate verification code from password settings on iPhone. Also, I had to log into home sharing before I could log into iCloud. Logging into iCloud first would never work.
The remote control is a bit of a pain in the arse when it comes to entering in username / password. I found it easier to to Apple TV app from App Store.Read full review

Dodgy item

Disappointed with the item. I have now open an account with Amazon for future purchase. The item doesn’t work properly and very difficult to comment due to changes to the firmware. Apple TV 2nd Generation

Apple TV 2nd Gen is beginning to show its age but if you want a device to mirror your iPad or Mac to your tv it works fine.
You can watch Apple TV + without any problem.
When setting up if you have 2 phase authorisation it can be a little tricky because the code sent to you only last a very short time and will keep telling you you have put in the wrong password.
You need to go to iCloud on your account and request a new code after typing in your password then all you need to do is put this in the same bar as your password and it should work.
Once it is running it is slower than the newer versions but it works well.
