iPod 5th w/ 16GB

I don't own a cellphone, nor did I own any Apple product, until I bought this Apple iPod MP3 Player, 5th G w/ 16GB. This item is a completely new experience for me, at age 60. When I first opened the box, I asked myself 'Where's the Operational Manual?' After going to the Apple 5G iPod Website, I realized that if they had given me a Manual, it would have been 40 -50 -60 pages. This 5th iPod is chuck full of neat items = You can watch a full lenght movie on it, create your own motion picture, listen to AM/FM or to thousands of 'my picked' music. The only thing that I would have liked = 'a single frame camera'.
In no time, I was navigating this two silver dollar thin, shirt pocket 'Entertainment Center'. At night, I hook it up to a iHome, Model iP97 (that I purchashed on eBay, also), dual alarm clock, that'll play my preordained music and recharge the 2 hour operational battery, at the same time.
I've only gained enough knowledge to operate half of the items, within my iPod and already - it's worth its weight in gold.Read full review...

Older tech still has its place

The iPod nano is a great device focused on doing one job very well: storing and playing music. Its size makes it perfect to take everywhere. Using a smartphone as a music source works but their size makes them less-convenient. I am surprised that Apple hasn't started manufacturing these again.Read full review...

Nano 5th Gen is getting harder to find these days. This one plays and looks great. I like the small size, easy to carry in an arm band to listen to music on the go.

This ipod is a classic i mean if you're use to using the wheel to navigate then this is your ipod. It's been slimmed down and now has the option to film videos which i like, you can capture a random moment while still being able to jam out, this ipod is a bit costly but it's build great, you spend good money and you will get a good ipod, i actually recently just bought the touch 16gb and i love it, it's way cheaper and smaller, doesn't have the filming feature but makes up with other things like the nike app. All and all this ipod is a good but, simple to use and is heavy duty so can withstand a few dings, get a case though and you're golden, enjoy guys.Read full review...

Compact, larger screen than 4th gen but the right size overall ... may be preferable over the newest 6th gen iPod Nano as those are rather small. Video cameras is a nice touch, but would have preferred a still camera. FM tuner with pause is very sweet feature. Too bad this model is currently discontinued, however, with the high demand, Apple should consider bringing these back as "ipod Nano Classics" or something like that.

As of later March 2011, the Apple store still sells the 16gb 5th gen version, refurbished with a new outer shell, new battery, and new earphones, all with 1 - year Apple warranty for $149 w/ free shipping, so these can be had at a good price if you're diligent to check back to the Apple site every couple of days as they come up for sale.Read full review...

Revive and restore your dead battery and/or bad LCD for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

They did a great job restoring my iPod to normal use. Both my battery and my LCD screen needed replacement. Note that I started the process of changing the battery which led to scratches and dings on my iPod. If you look at all the repaired iPods being resold closely you will see the signs of having been taken apart. I think this is unavoidable due to the design of these iPods. If you want your iPod working and do not mind some minor aesthetic scratches, this is much cheaper than buying a factory refurb. If you value your music collection on your iPod and want to keep it, you should consider this service. They missed the white bottom plate on my iPod but is in the process of sending me the part. Very happy and satisfied with the iPod nano and the overall purchase =0)

I repurchased the iPod nano for my 14 year old son who owned the 8 GB nano but had problems with the earphone jack. He chose to stay with the 5th generation & double the GB. He really likes the video feature and the overall size compared to the newer and smaller size of the 6th gen. I purchased the warranty "Square Trade" just incase something goes wrong with the earphone jack. We've owned other mp3 players but Apple's iPod's are the best by far.Read full review...

My 11 year old Grandson wanted an IPOD like my pink one. So we searched eBay and found his perfect (boy colored) IPOD. I had it shipped directly to his house so it would hopefully be there after his visit with me. It was delivered very quickly and he called me to tell me "it's perfect"! No scratches, great condition.

You can't go wrong with the 5th Generation iPod Nano! :D

I bought this 5th Generation Nano for several reasons:

1. I have a lot of songs!
2. Don't wanna fool with cds in my car.
3. I have an old mac and the 5th gen works with my version
of iTunes and os.
4. 16gb was just enough for all my tunes.
5. Lightweight for use when I run.
6. Easy to use and navigate.

I don't think there is one thing I don't like about this nano. I mean it even takes video/photo AND has a built in radio. Battery life is great. Sound quality is fantastic.
