Keeping a laptop cool

I have used a laptop cooler fan for some time and having upgraded my laptop I wanted to continue to do so.
The new laptop deserved a new cooling fan, especially as the old one was noisy now.
And there is a broad selection to choose from all offering a variety of abilities from basic fan to the all singing and dancing ones.
This is one of the latter and I have to say that so far its putting on a pretty good show.
The design is nice and what I would call smooth black industrial look.
It can lay just flat if you want but it has a nice selection of deck chair style ratchet slots so you can actually lever this up quite high if you need or want to to.
It is quite light but is also robust so it is easy to handle, set up and use.
Just above the small control panel at the bottom is the lift up stop bar which is very effective and unlike my last one has thus far held the laptop in place very easily without obstructing the use of the touchpad.
As I said this is one that puts on a show and that is accessed from the nicely positioned and easily viewed operation buttons at the front and centre of the bottom of the unit.
An easily visible red marked on off touch button puts it into action and then you can access the fan controls.
It has a nice range of settings allowing the use of just a couple of the fans or, if your really pushing your laptop, all six fans for some really cool power.
A nice touch is being able to vary the rather nice blue backlights to low or a medium style of light, so that you can see they are on but that they don't distract like some of the very bright red ones I looked at.
There are two USB sockets at the back which are easily accessed and one of these is used for the power in for which a cable is provided.
