Awesome hardware sequencer - limited but learn to enjoy it

Don't go buying this expecting an all powerful all knowing sequencer..
It has limits but learning to use it as per design is rewarding.
It can control 1 drum machine and has two step sequencers for synths..
Fairly steep learning curve as involves the hardware and only allows full access to all features via midi control software on pc.
I love using it. Well worth learning..

Beware of a common Usb fault!

This unit is fantastic apart not working any more due to the tiny usb power socket that has broke. This is a common fault on these units, hence videos on utube showing you how to hard wire solder them, to repair.
This is tricky to do because the wire and pins are very small.
I was getting on very well with this unit but it's been out of action for a few months because of the repair.
Until Arturia sort this out, I am not recommending anyone to purchase until they change the socket to a bigger usb or something better.

Great bit of kit.

I was looking for a sequencer to use with my modular synth that had gate/pitch/velocity outputs available to patch into it, the Beatstep pro had these but as a bonus also had another set of these outputs and also a midi connection, I now use my Beatstep pro to control my modular synth, Moog Sub 37 and Ableton Live 9 Simultaneously, it is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.Read full review

A very competent hardware sequencer

Great value for money considering its array of control methods and pretty straight forward to get to grips with. Not sure about the drum section I would have preferred a third melodic sequencer as most drum machines have built in sequencers already. A midi clock assign button would have been a good addition so as to plug and play from a master clock without having to access the software.
