A novel theme
Funny how one idea leads to another. The theme of using each room in an old Vicarage as a starting point will lead you to new areas of knowledge. Well worth joining Bill Bryson on a journey of discoveryRead full review

Best buy
I love this book and the way it is compiled, researched and always accompanied by Mr Brysons dry humour.
It goes into unknown areas of historical knowledge which I readily confess I was not privy to, all of which will incidentally help me greatly in my voluntary role with a well known British charity.
This book should be on the national curriculum, setting aside such fripperies as Trainspotting.Read full review
