At Last The 1948 Show (DVD)

I am a fanatic when it comes to British humour during the period from the 1940's to the 1970's. This DVD set shows the fledgling stages of a key group of British comedians and comic writers.
I find it absolutely fascinating to see the embryonic stage of many of the mannerisms and thought processes which were to develop into the Goodies, Monty Python's Flying Circus, etc.
If this sounds rather dull, let me just add that my 15 year old son, who usually rolls his eyes heavenward and disappears from the room when I put my comedy disks on, rolls the floor in helpless and hysterical laughter to these old black and white sketches.

As a huge monty python fan i felt it would be important to see where half of the humour came from.. i was very pleased with this dvd. goodtimes..

I HAVE HAPPY MEMORIES OF THIS SERIES, WHEN IT WAS ORIGINALLY SHOWN, I WAS ABOUT TWELVE YEARS OLD AND WATCHED IT WITH MY MUM, WHETHER I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THE HUMOUR I AM NOT SURE, BUT I ENJOYED IT NEVERTHELESS.Read full review...
