AtGames Sega Genesis Classic Mini Game Console w/ 80 Built-In Games - 2016 Model

Worth the money.

There are a lot of games on the console hard drive itself such as Sonic the Hedgehog series (except Sonic3), Mortal Kombat 1,2 and 3, and others I recognize from my childhood which is a huge plus. However there are around 20 games that are cheap slap together games that I would've played on Window 95 back in the day. I look past that because yes you can play the old Genesis cartridges on this platform. The picture quality is good, the control response is excellent. Having said that you can plug in the old controllers from the Genesis but it comes with two 6-button wireless controllers that only require AAA batteries. I have using the wireless controllers and have had no issues at all. The only other downfall is the sound from the cartridges are not the same. I played Sonic 2 on the hard drive and it the sounds are what they should be then I put in the cartridge and a lot of the sounds are not the same. I noticed this with the others which is not a big deal I am just happy to be able to play these games again without paying a huge sum of money. All in all I give it 4 stars cause it does work well except the sound difference.Read full review

Good, old school fun!

I had been looking for a good deal on one, and glad I found it! It plays really well, and has a lot of good games built in. Main annoyances are 1) the controllers have to be aimed directly at the box to work, 2) not HDMI 3) sound quality isn’t great/exactly same as original.

I’d recommend it and I enjoyed playing it

Works great and kinda nostalgic

Kind of a blast from the recent past. I remember how astonished I was how state-of-the-art the Sega Genesis was after graduating from Pong in the seventies and Atari in the eighties. This is not bad if you don’t have any genesis games. It comes with 80. I purchased this for my nephew because he wanted to play retro genesis games. He can use my cartridges in this system too.
