Character developement.

While these three episodes can be sometimes demanding of the viewer,they build the foundations for the future enjoyment of the rest of seris one and seris two. Character developement is the main theme. While still very entertaining, episodes 4-6 concentrate on the individual members of the group and the developement of the dynamics and the gelling of them as a unit. Insights are given into their pasts and what they left behind,showing girlfriends,wives and home circumstances.
All these aspects allow you to be drawn into their worlds,both personal and working. They give you a greater view of the charcters and allows the viewer to see things in a much richer context. This increases your enjoyment of the rest of their adventures in a much more involved way.
One episode is even turned over to an outside writer to help present a more objective view.
The writers took the time,and had the time(14 episodes),to include these character building episodes so that our enjoyment would be enhanced because we were brought into their lives. This is why the seris and the characters have lived on.
Certainly in my mind this is why I love the whole seris and why it stays with people. While not the best episodes ,they are essential to watch as they lay the foundations for what follows.Read full review...

It made me laugh out loud. Brilliant can not wait to watch the next DVD covering series 2.
