Good Hardware, Poor Software yet can work well

T202 accompanying disc : TOTALMEDIA software=further payment required!!!, so instead internet download the free app "SMARTDVB" for your machine. The IT9135 DRIVER. on T202 disc is OK. I use WIN XP - works great. Setting up/tuning the SMARTDVB requires patience. A better antenna is important - the small one supplied only works if you're close to a TV transmitter. Works with SichboPVR on Windows 10

The receiver works well as a receiver once set-up.
Don't bother with the supplied software; it's very poor.
The a more up-to-date driver is on the Internet.
After much fiddling I found that SichboPVR is a good option for software.
I didn't even try the aerial as I had a wall socket to the roof-top one.
I have dumped the remote too. SichboPVR does not interpret the buttons correctly.

In short, for Windows 10:
Get the just the latest driver from the net, but ignore the software.
Install driver and plug in.
Install SichboPVR and it should find it an work.Read full review

Not really good enough

The USB device does work. I can watch TV on my PC. However, the software install is very difficult. It is important to note that the driver and the TotalMedia software are installed separately. If the TotalMedia software cannot find the device driver or doesn't like its version then there is no error message - it just locks up in channel scan with no indication of where the problem is. If that happens you can't tell if the problem is the USB device, the TotalMedia software or the driver. I was forced to try another media application to test that the USB device and the driver. Finally after several hours, including reloading the driver and application from August's web site, managed to get the unit working. The remote is next to useless. On my computer the on/off button brings up the Intel Graphics config app! In conclusion, USB device ok. Software - poor. Aerial - useless unless the transmitter is in visual range. Remote - next to useless.Read full review

Freeview USB Tuner that won't tune!

This product is compact, nice design and looked good. However whilst the software loads, it crashes when you attempt to tune in the Freeview channels. The supplied antenna is pretty useless, suction base with metal plate to connect to the magnetic base disappointing as suction fails and magnet pulls out the metal plate from the suction mount. Even with an amplifier and other antenna the software crashes. When you re-start it says multiple versions running when only one is running, so you have to power down and start again. The August support is good, and I went online to check on the chat service, which was helpful, but they didn't help me fix it. I updated the software to the latest version but no luck. Everything else works just fine, the cheap remote and all the software works through a Windows keyboard. However the supplied remote is very laggy, with slow response with the software. The media player and other functionality looks good also, with all the issues with the Freeview Tuner it seems. So unless there is a software fix, I've wasted money on a fairly useless device. Shame as it looked excellent when I bought it.Read full review

Good value for money at the very reduced price. Used with very old laptop. Some stop go during programs. Installation instructions require magnifying glass. When installing hung up a few times without any signs of action before resuming. Great choice of channels TV and Radio. Picture quality good. Note I am in line of sight of tv transmitter. THE COMPLETE TV AND RADIO SET UP ON YOUR DEVICE - IT RECORDS TOO - AMAZING

It lets you watch TV on your computer and record the programs you would have missed - with the TV programs being saved on the computer you don't have the time restriction to watch them - like you do with iPlayers etc - with no worry of running out of space on your set top recording system too. I like it because it is excellent quality recording, no advertising pop-up (except those you would normally get on the TV station). If you want to, you can always save your favourite program by series - or burn them onto DVDs or save on a dongle. this was really easy to set up. Is good on Windows 8 but tends to be a little jumpy on windows 10. It also records UK subtitles - which is really useful for me as I am deaf.

DTV330 USB 2.O Mini DVB Stick

Item arrived less than 48 hours after ordering it! The supplied disk didn't autorun and failed to install the driver.
Insert the tuner into a USB slot and Windows will install a driver. In Device Manager click this driver and select Update Driver and choose the correct driver on the Installation disk - 64k in my case. This installs the correct driver and the tuner works really well with a simple loft aerial. MediaPortal shows 90% signal strength, 100% quality on all SD channels.Read full review

Very effective little device

This item is a very easy & convenient way to record TV shows & if required on to DVD, although there are many devices on the market to do this, they are large & expensive, not worth the cost for someone like myself who doesn't watch TV much, so this is ideal, being inexpensive & efficient in operation.
