Awakenings (DVD, 1990)

Awakenings is exactly correct to describe what these people experienced.

It is an engaging story about the relationship between a doctor and his patients, one in particular, all who have a similar disorder that he is able to temporarily ward off. He gets to know them during this short period of time and comes to admire their value and appreciation for life. Once the time ended though, he grieved the loss, but continued to try for similar returns of function for these patients.Read full review
