BISSELL 1548 Black/Samba Orange Carpet Cleaner

No more rental units required...

Originally bought this unit for pet stains and such. When it arrived, I found it pretty easy to assemble. I mixed the recommended portions of cleaner to hot water, and started in on the stained area. It had cleaned that area so well that I could see where I had stopped. So let's just do a bit more... before I realized it I had done the hallway, dining room and living room and what a difference it made! The carpet takes just abit longer to dry, and it really goes through the cleaning mixture when deep clean is selected, but that's not a complaint, just an fyi. I usually rent a "professional cleaner" approximately every 3 months... this unit cleaned far better then the rental. My wife even commented on not only how good the carpet look, but how much softer it felt on bare feet. Just one other thing, I sometimes go back over the carpet with just water to rinse it and it does seem to help.Read full review

Don’t Purchase

This carpet cleaner was brand new. I put it together (very easy). After assembly I plugged it into use. Within five minutes there was a strong burning smell to the extent of setting off my smoke alarms. After contacting Bissell twice, I was instructed to remove the “Belt Access Door” to check if the belts were on correctly. They indeed had slipped off. After putting the belts on correctly, I tried using the cleaner again. Within a few minutes the belts came off again. I contacted Bissell support once again. They are sending me new belts. At this point I don’t know if this will correct the problem. I would not recommend this product. Read full review

Cleans great and simple to use

Great overall cleaner that is definitely worthv the purchase. The only negative is the clesr plastic vacuum part on the bottom can get pet hair clogged in it easily, and it is not easy to clear out. Carpet cleaner

It is lightweight, easy to carry. It cleans well but I do notice some stubborn stains are hard to get up and require extra cleaning. Lightweight and easy to use

This is the third carpet cleaner I have purchased and I like this one the best! It is light, easy to use and works great. The tanks are easy to fill and empty. I wish it held more water but then it would be heavier so that is the trade off. I would recommend this carpet cleaner for big or small areas especially if you have pets. I was amazed at how much cat hair it pulled out of the carpet that I couldn’t even see.Read full review

Better than my old Rug Doctor

This is just I needed. A machine would clean a carpet ..
It works great simple to use . The cord is a pain coming out the lower side and have to hang it on a hook on handle .

Lightweight, decent quality, and easy to use

I am a fan of Bissell carpet cleaners, and this one does not disappoint. It is fairly lightweight, easy to assemble and use/disassemble and clean. Strong motor! Easy to clean! Very light! You don't necessarily have to add hot water into it because it heats the water for you as it is coming out onto your area that you're cleaning. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking buy a carpet cleaner.Read full review

Bissell ProHeat is Not Worth Purchasing

Assembly is easy, no other value. Tested to ensure it works, and while the vacuum powers up, it doesn’t work and sounds horrible. It’s similar to when an engine gets a little too loud when it’s overheating. This unit is loud like the lawn mower edition for vacuums.

This vacuum is extremely loud in both modes of cleaning. The electrical cable is not long enough even to clean a small room. The suction on this unit does not work at all with the secondary attachment and sprays unevenly. Unable to pick up small particles of dust or pet hair, items are pushed to the side on the rug and on the hardwood floors. This is not a vacuum. This is not a efficient deep cleaner either. The brush bristles spin but without proper suction and a better filter system, it’s dragging dirt and then wet dirt. My regular vacuum was used to pre-clean the floors and rug, so there was no build up of dust or dirt on either. The bristles get wet, spin but catch dirt, the dirt gets stuck between the plastic and bristles, again the vacuum makes the worst sound. I’m looking for another pet cleaner that actually cleans. Nice small and light weight carpet cleaner for smaller jobs

For a lower priced model it worked very well. With 1 gallon dertergent capacity it's not really designed for large carpet areas. We have a dog that sleeps in a few areas and is great for cleaning those areas on a higher frequency. Have only used twice so can't comment on quality or reliability yet but it did clean very well.Read full review
