Useful and helpful hand vacuum to have around the house.

I had one of these that I bought about 5 years ago, but it broke mostly due to my own negligence (motor gone because of some uneven spinning due to some chunks of debris. I probably didn't seat the filter correctly after changing it and stuff got past the filter.) The costs of these have gone up about 20% since I purchased it. This used model without a charger was ideal for me. I had a charger but didn't want to shell out for a brand new vacuum.Read full review

Very good product at first...

When I first got this vacuum, I was impressed. Good suction, easy to empty, keeps a charge. I use it pretty regularly in the last 11 months...I was on my third replacement filter. Unfortunately, it just stopped working. I thought it was a dead battery, but it stopped and never worked again. It lasted 11 months. Not sure if I’d buy another. Read full review

This unit is compact, is easy to handle and from what I've read should hold a charge longer than any others on the market. This unit would be perfect if the noise level was lower. The high pitched whine is annoying. But, if it takes a charge and lasts longer than a year, I would be willing to give it 5 stars.
The old vacuums were great out of the box and did a great job. But we have spent probably $500 over 5 years just trying to find a hand vac that would last longer than a year. Hopefully B&D has finally made a reliable battery that has some longevity.Read full review

This is my third one over many years. It is great, runs for about 15 to 20 minutes with full power. But the way that I use it is I take one of my old plastic golf club sleeve's (the old style one's like you use to get your club into your bag easier). And I cut the larger end off at an angle (about 30 to 40 degrees) with a scissors this is not fussy. And you cut the length to according to how tall you are. Then you just lightly squeeze the other end and it will go right into the suction end of this vacuum. It will pick-up most anything very fast! Do not pick-up liquids!Read full review

Powerful and long lasting. I have one of those old golf club plastic sleeve's that used to let you put your clubs in the bag easier. so I cut the bottom (thicker) end off to the length that I like on an angle. Then just squeeze the top end a little and it fits right into this vacuum. Pick up every thing on the floor with no bending over.

This is the second one I bought, I keep one each floor. Very handy and easy to use. Only two little problems, first the battery life, the first cleaner I bought abou an year ago, and the battery is noticeable shortened. Second is the lid of container become loose, and sometimes won't close properly. But still the best hand-held vacuum cleaner you can find that is affordable.Read full review

So far, this handvac kicks serious ass.

I've used it on kitchen floors and countertops mostly, but accidentally dropped a lightbulb the other day where it shattered into a thousand pieces -- rather than sweep it up with a hand broom and dustpan, I simply vacuumed it all up.
