Bmw 118d flexi replacement pipe

Perfect for the job. You need to cut the existing down pipe just below the dpf and then undo the clamp at join to the rear section. This part is then slid over your existing down pipe below the cat and then the other end slides into the rear section. The new flexi then needs to be rotated to get it to sit at the right angle to line up each end and then tighten the supplied clamp at dpf end then the original exhaust clamp to tighten the back end to the rear section of the exhaust.. if you can do basic diy.. you can do this job in an hour.. for those lucky enough to be slim enough to get under your car on basic home car ramps as I did today. Would use again in the future, so happy customerRead full review...

Didn't fit

My mechanic had my car for a full day to fit this. It needs to be welded to the DPF and the angle of the bend doesn't match the original meaningful that further sections if pipe had to be mitre cut and joined to get this part to fit. First deserve one star!Read full review...

A MILE AWAY

Bought one of these for my wife's 1 series cabriolet and it's a good job I have a mig welder, oxy/acetylene bottles and garage facilities! Removed cat/ DPF downpipe and removed split flexy ( reason for buying this part) and part was same diameter as the hole at rear of cat, cleaned out old metal and mock fitted to car to find its too short and exhaust would hit underside of floor if fitted this way!! Had to cut part and lengthen it by roughly a 1/2 inch and weld it all back together, mock fitted again and perfect but a lot more work than first anticipated someone hasn't quite got the sizes and diameter right..... Or not for our car and I input all the details before I purchased this part and it confirmed it was correct for our car!!!!! If you can't fit this yourself and have access to all tools required as I've mentioned above then forget it genuinely shop around and just buy a full replacement because this took me about 4 hours start to finish and I'm an engineer, do the sums for 4 hrs at your local garage and this £30 quid waste of time part just ain't worth the hassle..... Trust me on this!! No instructions which didn't bother me but if you're not handy then forget it!!! If only it was like ronseal and did exactly what it says on the tin!! WASTE OF MONEYRead full review...

Happy Customer.

Initially I was skeptical.

Was it going to work? Was it going to be good enough quality?

You'll need an angle grinder!

Don't be overly neat with the removal of the old one, get it out the way and leave plenty of metal on the DPF side so you can see what needs doing. You'll probably spend 20-30 mins preparing the DPF end.

Once prepared it's such an entirely simple case of tightening everything up.

Once tight it is absolutely solid. I was surprised! Yeah, the flex works but the assembly is solid.

It's the right size in the right places. Very good quality and super cheap. I was fitting it for someone else and accomplished the task easily on my driveway.

Bought for a different model but modified to fit

Bought this in for a customer's X1, had to modify it (DPF outlet size was smaller than the part) but still cheaper than making the whole thing from scratch (we are a custom exhaust centre). Quality of the Flexi itself was really good. Would buy another again if I had the same job in, saved me time and made the job really easy. If you are in Essex and need one fitting give me a call @ Quest Motorsport 01702 258286 ;) .... Everyone loves a cheeky plug!Read full review...

Great fix for old flexi

I used it to fix my old broken flexi. You just need to cut the old one out with angle grinder and trim around the edges of DPF then slip the new flexi pipe over dpf pipe exit. Great piece of kit.
