Great piece of kit

After hearing a lot of of negative comments about this not fitting the GT550, I decided to take a gamble, it’s pretty simple to fit if you follow the instructions and there’s a little modification required to the back plate but it’s worth it, my old 76 gt is starting and running better than ever

Waste of money

I bought mine for a GT550 and it has been a complete nightmare. The original plate has to filed back and modified. The connectors provided with the kit are pretty poor, that doesn't lend themselves to good secure connections. All cylinders spark at the same time, so the level of spark power is quite small compared to the previous contact breaker set up. Bought new coils, but that didn't improve the situation either. Left with a bike that runs on two or sometimes three cylinders! Waste of money and obviously made just for Kawasaki triples. I'm taking mine out and going back to original set up.Read full review...

A complete pain to fit to a Gt750. .. don't do it!

This product was clearly not designed for the GT750 and requires a lot of modifying to fit. The factory points plate can be used but the centre hole needs to be bored through for the centre to fit through and the plate needs all the original protruding bits grinding off before you start. The plate supplied that houses the pick ups needs to be filed to clerk the points plate screws and the aperture to time the bike needs to be opened up.
All this hassle and then the unit fires all the plugs at once every 120 degrees so I don't expect the coils will last long.
Not a patch on the Newtronic system
Dont buy one unless you love pain!
