Brilliant Truecall but BT build quality dropping fast

Truecall is absolutely excellent. Had this on my previous BT 8610 sets and wouldn't be without it. And having it integrated into the phone is really worth having. I'd definitely recommend this.
>BUT, these BT Premium handsets simply aren't as good as the 8610's - much lower build quality and so slow that I'm guessing there's a much less powerful chip inside. And certainly no cheaper to buy. If these are the 'Premium' range then I'm not sure what this says about the lower ranges. Shame on you BT!

Somewhat complicated and time-consuming to set up, but with useful functionality and good performance.

Previous reviewers have complained about lightweight/plasticky feel to product and some have noted poor sound quality. But I've found sound quality to be fine and this issue may well relate to individual line quality, rather than the phone itself.
Yes, the handsets and base stations are lightweight, which has advantages (and disadvantages), depending on how you use them and, they are made mainly from plastics. But long calls on heavy handsets can be a problem!
However, the base stations could justifiably be heavier to avoid being knocked over, or to resist sliding around on a worktop and the charging socket geometry could be deeper, to hold and protect the tall and slim handsets.
Their designer's use of high gloss finish on frontal surfaces can also be questioned. While it might be easily wiped clean when needed, this finish choice makes scratches, wear and remnants from sticky fingers far more noticeable than if textured.
The digital answerphone playback quality is clearer and better than previous generations that I've experienced and the overall recording time is much more useful than those too.
There is no fall-back battery power pack to this system, as found on previous generations, to provide line power during a cut-out. As those are quite rare these days in the UK, I've not yet seen if that absence might cause the unit's memory loss.
Although the useful 1000 contact list function can be copied over from a mobile, I've not yet found a means to copy over only a selection of contacts from mobiles which have greater than a 1000-long list (which must be common these days with Google Android phones and synched Gmail contacts, as well as for businesses). So that has been one disappointment so far and prevents a 5* rating for me.Read full review...

Good BUT could be better

Overall this is a good phone, the BT Call Defender is excellent, probably best call blocker on market. But the phone is let down by horrible ring tones and cheap first gen software for all the other functions on the phone, quality is good, not excellent. Screen resolution should be great but again cheap 2nd gen screen, but better than most competition with 1st gen orange backlit muck.

Product great, manual not so good.

Great for getting rid of nuisance calls of all descriptions. The manual isn't the best but the product is great once you get your head around the way it works. Being able to Bluetooth to your mobile allows you to choose whether you make the call from landline or mobile which can be useful if you are watching the bills.Read full review...

Not fit for purpose

We are having issues where the answer machine doesnt always work. You ring numbers and the phone cuts out midway through dialing the number. There are times where the call doesn't end properly and leaves the line engaged so that you cant make incoming or recieve calls. There is a major issue with the phones and they are NOT fit for purpose. I have lost count of the number of times I have had to totally unplug the line and power of the phones in order to get then towork again.Read full review...
