Phone with call blocker
Great piece of kit. Nice phones and no 6-20 times a day answering phone to somebody wanting to sell me something i don't want or need. Would recommend to anyone. The fact that the phone will ask you whether or not you want to accept a call if it is not certain whether or not it is a friend or foe on the line does take a few days to get used too. Long slim handset feels robust without feeling heavy in the hand. You can opt in or out of the nuisance call feature which is great if like me you haven't yet copied over your call list from your previous phone! Nice clean sound. Easy to set up. You can choose between a couple of traditional phone 'ringing' ringtones or lots of polyphonic ringtones. Personally I quite like the traditional sound of my home phone actually ringing! stop thoughs nusence calls
I work shifts nights, late's and early's and when I night I used to get woken up all the time. I say used to because no more if the number is not in the phone who ever is calling has to speak there name then the phone will ring you get a message saying the person is calling and get the option to accept or reject the call. but here is the best bit if they do not give a name it will not ring the number will be stored on the phone so you can see who has rung and if it is a cold call you can just block it with the block button. Robust phones with call blocking
Tried latest BT Premium phones as a replacement for my 8600 phones and sent them back. The 8600 are much more robust and you can assign different ring tones to friends & family. Discovered you can put new rechargeable aaa in this older model. So that is what I did and bought another unused 8600 phone with base as a back-up.Yes, it is an old model but definitely worth looking out for in my opinion.Read full review

Stop scammers getting through to vulnerable older people
With a bit of work entering permitted phone numbers and changing settings, my dad has eliminated scam calls, yet can receive genuine calls from family and friends. Peace at last from unwanted calls
I needed new phones as I only had one handset which was in fact an older version of these phones. I was so delighted with my old phone that I didn't hesitate in buying these. They are brilliant at blocking out any witheld numbers, international calls or unrecognised number calls. Since my purchase I have received NO calls of this nature whatsoever~ instead they try to use my mobile number which I block!
