Versatile Box ...

This is a great box with a variety of uses. It can be used as a standalone freeview box on your tv, or, connected to the internet for many more programs, and catch up tv. Then you have the recorder facility with 500gb hard drive storage.... an excellent choice.Read full review...

BT box

I am on my 4th box. The previous 3 all had the same problem and that's that they all started going wrong.ive various prices for them raging from £120 down to£40. The shortest time I have had one before it went wrong is 4 months and the longest is 2 years.
They start going wrong by getting wavy lines. They gradually go worse until it's too bad to watch.
Why do I keep on buying them, because the bloody wife says it's the only one that she knows how to work.
I've had other human and Manhattan but they are too complicated for her.

Great features and easy to set up

Great box. Really easy to set up with an Ethernet connection to your router. It cannot be used wirelessly.

So many cool features. It can record 2 programmes at the same time.

The Youview app for remote recording was recently disabled which was disappointing. However BT are allowing non-BT customers to use their free app to do this. Read full review...

Small and lightweight and good to operate without problems.

Much better than the Freeview Box i had. It also supports Surround Sound which is great. It's pretty small and compact and doesn't take up much room and pretty fast to power up.

BT Youview Ultra 1TB

You can get all Catchup Services from the internet, plus Netflix & NowTV with subscription. It has a large recording capacity of 1 TB unlike other recorders of 320 GB or 500 GB on some recorders. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is because of the sound level. I connect my recorder box to a Panasonic sound system, which when it connects to just Freeview, I have to increase the volume quite a lot, but when it connects to Catchup on the internet, it gets louder and is of an expected normal sound level. I have an older BT Youview recording box too and that one does not have this problem. Otherwise this box and its picture quality are superb.Read full review...

Unbeatable for my needs.

Well I wanted to record programs but that was all I was using my Virgin box for. I bought this for what I was paying Virgin each month. So now I'm saving money. It's easy to use, seems very well built, I don't need a BT account to use it so I'm well happy. Someone said it doesn't support Now TV, mine does. Try update in settings. Also download the BT app to your smartphone. It's not well explained so experiment. I'm telling it to record future programs while I'm 1500 miles from home. It's absolutely brilliant.Read full review...

exactly what i needed.

very pleased with it so far although haven't used it much. bought to use with a tv that does not have built in freeview nor 'players' (bbc, itv, etc.) plus want to be able to record and avoid endless senseless commercials and it seems to fit the bill in those regards. easy to install and set up. operation seems pretty straightforward and intuitive.Read full review...

Small, neat and efficient

It's early days and I'm still getting used to the way this machine works. The layout of the remote and its functions are very different from my old Humax. But so far I would say I'm extremely happy with it. I used the internet cable to do the setup, but had no intention of keeping it connected during daily use. Of course there is no wifi on the box. Sometimes the machine throws up a message to say that there is something wrong wrong with my internet connection, but I just ignore that and carry on and it's no problem. I can't watch IPlayer etc but it doesn't matter because I've got all that stuff on my TV. The box was very good value and I'm very happy.Read full review...

Good box with internet features

I wrote a long positive review for this box which was completely lost when I hit the submit button and not going to re-write the whole thing again other than to say it's a good box with lots of features.Read full review...

One of the best boxes on the market

This our second of these.Nice user interface, though why they don't have a library button is beyond me. Has all the catch up players but the NOW TV player isn't full NOW TV, just the movie bit (so no Sky Sports which is a shame and is a mystery ). Using it in conjunction with a little usb powered WiFi network adapter as for some ridiculous reason the box doesn't have WiFi!Read full review...
