Plugged either end into a socket and they worked first time, no button pressing required just worked. Also despite the instructions stating you cannot plug them into extension leads i plugged both ends into a four way extension and still got 50meg download speeds.

Obviously depends on your electric wiring condition and mine was set up in the down stairs ring.

Literally plugged it in and the connection was automatic and getting speeds higher than my WiFi.

Simple to use (make sure you read the instructions) and instantly provides Wi-Fi where the router previously could not. Connect one unit to your router with the ethernet cable provided and plug it into a wall socket then plubg in the second unit, wait a few seconds and it is up and running. The sockets have to be on the same ring main which is, I suspect, why most people have problems when trying to extend their net onto a second floor (upstairs) the sockets are likely on a different ring main. A solution might be a long ethernet cable to allow connection to the router and have the unit plugged in upstairs. Read full review

BT mains wifi extender kit success!!!

Purchased these extenders to enable internet access in my log cabin at a distance of 65 yards from my bungalow. Wifi extenders failed due to inadequate range. Plug and go,as simple as that. These extenders use my electric feed cable to the cabin. I am a qualified electrician and have also worked as a BT engineer for over 22 years, so take my advice and buy one.Read full review
