Use For Plusnet ISP

Used to replace very poor / weak Plusnet standard router. Easy to do, switch on, hook up device via ethernet cable, 192.168.1.254 for settings, switch off 'Smart Setup' and save, go to advanced settings, stick in your Plusnet account details which are "yourplusnetusername/signon"@plusdsl.net and your password, click connect and GO!! Gone from averaging 5mb download over WiFi to consistently 20-25mb!! Read full review...

Just works

Have removed the WiFi extender as seems to reach all rooms in the house. Writing this in the furthest room from the hub. Was easy to set up for my Plusnet account using supplied instructions. All good so far no drop outs.Read full review...

Good replacement for a Plusnet Hub One.

When we upgraded our broadband to FTTC (Plusnet) we first tried the Plusnet Hub One - supplied free. The WiFi performance was poor. Areas of the house which were covered fine by our previous ADSL2+ Router (a netgear D6300) now had a weak signal.
The Plusnet Forum discusses the solution - pick up a BT Smart Hub and use that instead. Instructions are readily available - search the Plusnet user forum. (I'm not allowed ot post a URL). The Smart Hub (aka Home Hub 6) works pretty well and I recall Which rated it amongst the best of the routers supplied with a broadband contract. It has a few quirks and isn't as easy to configure as a Netgear router - we need a couple of devices to have a fixed IP address, for example, and need to configure a port forwarder to a Raspberry Pi, but there are solutions. Power consumption was measured as 8 - 9 watts, about par for the course, and slightly better than the old Netgear. But I've had routers in the past using only 5 watts, and you can work out the annual cost of a couple of extra watts. This is a used router, but it is working well.

First-class performance at a moderate price.

The router was purchased after experiencing frequent drop-outs with an old modem/router combination.
The Homehub 6 is a sturdy and stylish unit which proved relatively easy to install. No drop-outs have yet occurred, 48 hours after installation. It seems to be performing perfectly.
The only slight criticism so far is that the sprung feet give stability and prevent the unit falling backwards, but do little to prevent it falling flat on its face. Blu-tack to the rescue!

Great product with a terrific guide to get it working!

This is a great product that came exactly as advertised and did what it needed to - massively improved the quality of our WiFI signal.
But also!
It came with bespoke instructions which were the hands-on clearest and most useful instructions that I have ever got with a product. It made transparent every step of the process of using the product for my internet provider, and also included a set of very useful tips for settings and ways to further enhance signal, which all came in useful! Highly recommended.Read full review...

Better than my hub 5

Improvement over my old hub 5. Range outdoors significantly better. My Logitech Squeezebox used to disconnect itself for some strange reason but has stopped doing this after the upgrade. Having said all this the Hub 5 is still an excellent hub and unless there are specific problems e.g. range or compatibility there is no reason o change.Read full review...

Good quality router with strong signal

Initially, I had problems assigning my existing private network address and found that the router would only allow me to assign standard address ranges. Having re-configured my private network consistent with current recommendations, all went OK. The router now performs very well. In particular, it maintains a consistently strong signal on the 5Ghz band.Read full review...

Great router to improve Plusnet connection

I have a plusnet account and the router they sent is rubbish. So I went on their forum and some genius not only recommended buying this hub but put a step by step guide to setting it up so that it works with a plusnet wifi signal. It is brilliant and so much better. I would recommend it if anyone wants to improve thier wifi connection using Plusnet. It certainly worked for me.Read full review...

Worthwhile upgrade

Bought as a replacement for a plus net router as recommended online. The signal strength as shown by my WiFi Explorer app is measurably better, and the signal received by devices in various corners of the house is stronger. Although bought as refurbished the product is as new. Easy to make sure it uses the best available channel free of neighbours' WiFi. Good value.Read full review...
