Great buy!

I really enjoy using this book to teach my son signs and how to communicate with me by using them. I like the way the book instructs you on the best way to use it and my son loves to "turn the page" and look at the pictures. It's a hard cover so that makes for easy and safe "page turning" for baby. I hope to see some cool results after using this over time.Read full review...

What A Great Book!

This book combines vibrant, adorable pictures with American Sign Language signs to really engage my baby. The book was captivating for the baby and instructional for me. My baby has already learned a number of signs that prevent frustration for both of us. It was important for me to find a book with the true version of the ASL signs instead of modified signs. I want my hearing baby to learn signs for our use but to also learn ASL as a second language. I highly recommend this book.Read full review...

The title of this book is very fitting

I bought this book b/c I wanted to start signing with my baby. I loved the book immediately! It has great pictures in it with the different signs that are so very easy to copy. It includes many, many words that I use with my baby every day. I have shown the book to my husband and to friends and everybody was able to pick up on signing right away. I would recommend this book to any mom that wants to teach her baby how to sign.Read full review...

Easy to understand but a bit advanced

I do have knowledge of ASL, so I already knew all the signs in the book and can't really comment on the ease of fully understanding the way they explain how to do the hand gestures--to me it seems pretty well explained, though.

I will say that some of the signs require a bit more dexterity than a young baby--say 6 months old--might be able to do. The book does cover basic signs that would be helpful, like bathroom, milk, house...stuff like that (I gave it to my sister-in-law as a gift, so I can't remember everything in it lol).

All in all, I think it's a good starter book for babies to young kids, as an aid to teach them how to communicate....cause as we all know, people's dexterity forms well before their verbal skills do!

My First Signs

Looks like signing is working but my son is still young ( 7 1/2 months). He appears to be reacting to some of the signs already and loves the colors and pictures in the book.
Repitition is the key and the book seems to keep his interest! I will pursue further signing with him and advanced signing liturature!

My first signs

This is a wonderful book. My dad bought it for me, and my 12 mo old daughter started using the signs to communicate what she wanted since she cant talk yet. I bought this one for my mom so she could use them too.Read full review...

MUST HAVE FOR MOMS WANTING TO BROADEN THEIR KIDS MINDS

Great book! A must for mothers who want to teach their children to sign. What a great way to broaden their minds at such a young age.
